Корреспондент выполняет следующие функциональные обязанности: Обеспечивает редакцию оперативной информацией и другими материалами, готовит собственные публикации. Устанавливает контакты по заданию главного редактора или по собственной инициативе с государственными органами власти, органами местного самоуправления, предприятиями для получения необходимой информации по вопросам тематики отдела; своевременно информирует редакцию о предстоящих событиях. Выезжает на места для освещения событий в Республике Хакасия и за ее пределами, получает аккредитации в установленных случаях, осуществляет сбор оперативной информации на местах событий, подготавливает вопросы для запланированных интервью, встречается с интервьюируемыми, берет интервью. Изучает собранную информацию, обрабатывает материалы, представляет их в виде интервью, статей, комментариев по определенной тематике, осуществляет подготовку очерков, заметок, информаций. Производит записи, в том числе с использованием средств аудио-, фото- и видеосъёмки с соблюдением требований законодательства о средствах массовой информации. Производит проверку достоверности полученной информации, выполняет иные требования законодательства о средствах массовой информации. Принимает участие в разработке перспективных и текущих планов редакции, разрабатывает предложения по освещению отдельных тем, осуществляет поиск новых тем. Редактирует авторские материалы, обеспечивает правильность приводимых цитат, имен, цифр и других фактических данных. Составляет подборки, рубрики, готовит их для печати и выпускает их в соответствии с утвержденным графиком. 2.10. Обрабатывает материалы внештатных корреспондентов, оказывает им творческую помощь. Подготавливает обязательный месячный минимум материалов (норму строк), установленный приказом главного редактора. Ставит в известность главного редактора о возможных исках и предъявлении иных предусмотренных законом требований в связи с распространением подготовленного им сообщения или материала. По заданию руководства работает с письмами, поступающими в редакцию.
