ППС и ПП. оказание квалифицированной медицинской помощи с использованием современных методов профилактики, диагностики, лечения и реабилитации; определение тактики ведения пациента в соответствии с установленными правилами и стандартами; разработка плана обследования больного, уточнение объёма и рациональных методов диагностики для получения полной и достоверной информации в минимально короткие сроки; установление (или подтверждение) диагноза на основе клинических наблюдений, сбора анамнеза, данных лабораторных и инструментальных исследований; назначение и контроль лечения, организация или самостоятельное проведение диагностических, лечебных, реабилитационных и профилактических процедур; внесение изменений в план лечения в зависимости от состояния пациента и определение необходимости дополнительных методов обследования; оказание консультативной помощи врачам других подразделений учреждения; участие в проведении экспертизы временной нетрудоспособности и подготовка документов для медико-социальной экспертизы; ведение медицинской и иной документации; проведение санитарно-просветительной работы среди пациентов.

Врач-хирург должен знать: законодательные и нормативно-правовые акты в сфере здравоохранения; основы организации лечебно-профилактической помощи, скорой и неотложной медицинской помощи, службы медицины катастроф, санитарно-эпидемиологической службы и другие аспекты; современные методы профилактики, диагностики, лечения и реабилитации; этиологию, патогенез, клиническую симптоматику, особенности течения и принципы лечения основных заболеваний; правила оказания неотложной медицинской помощи; нормативно-правовые и инструктивно-методические документы по специальности; правила оформления медицинской документации; основы медицинской этики и деонтологии, правила внутреннего трудового распорядка, нормы охраны труда, пожарной безопасности и санитарно-эпидемиологического режима.
