Обеспечение исправного состояния, безаварийной и надежной работы обслуживаемых электроустановок и оборудования, правильной их эксплуатации, своевременного качественного ремонта; изучение условий работы устройств, выявление причин преждевременного износа, принятие мер по их предупреждению и устранению; осуществление контроля соблюдения норм расход всех видов энергии; участие в испытаниях и приемке энергетических установок и сетей в эксплуатацию, в рассмотрении причин аварий энергетического оборудования и разработка мероприятий по их предупреждению, созданию безопасных условий труда; осуществление полной и шлейфовой замены электропроводки, монтажа новых электрических сетей, прокладки и скрещивания электроприборов и кабелей, установки, переноса электрических розеток, выключателя; проведение планово-предупредительного ремонта электрической части оборудования согласно графика и т.д.

Знание конструкций, назначения, принципов работы, мест установки и крепления применяемых приборов, электромеханизмов и аппаратуры; знание технологий ремонта и регулирования электрооборудования, правил проверки сопротивления изоляции электропроводов, основных сведений о марках, назначении и свойствах материалов, применяемых в электрооборудовании, а также при его работе, устройство применяемых электроизмерительных приборов и правил их использования, основных законов электротехники, технической и рабочей документации, основ слесарного дела; умение осуществлять разборку, ремонт, сборку и регулирование средней сложности электроагрегатов, определять техническое состояние элементов, входящих в электромеханизм, устранять неисправности в электромеханизмах и др.
