обеспечивает надлежащее состояние зданий и помещений: контролирует исправность оборудования (освещение, системы отопления, вентиляции, водоснабжения, электрика), следит за соблюдением норм безопасности, производственной санитарии и противопожарной защиты. Участвует в разработке планов текущих и капитальных ремонтов зданий, систем коммуникаций. Организует ремонтные работы и контролирует их качество. Также может готовить здания к сезонной эксплуатации (например, к зиме). Обеспечивает структурные подразделения мебелью, хозяйственным инвентарём, средствами механизации труда. Закупает канцелярские принадлежности, расходные материалы для оргтехники, спецодежду, инструменты. Ведёт учёт: фиксирует поступление, расход, сохранность имущества, составляет отчётность. Участвует в инвентаризации, оформляет списание малоценных и быстроизнашивающихся предметов. Руководит обслуживающим персоналом: уборщиками, сантехниками, электриками и другими работниками, распределяет задания, выдаёт инвентарь и материалы. Руководит работами по уборке помещений и прилегающей территории, озеленению. Организует сбор и вывоз мусора, в том числе опасных отходов (например, люминесцентных ламп). Контролирует соблюдение требований охраны труда при эксплуатации оборудования и помещений. Отвечает за пожарную безопасность: следит за исправностью средств пожаротушения, организует их учёт и своевременную замену. Проводит мероприятия по защите от насекомых и грызунов (дезинсекция, дератизация).

Организаторские способности, умение работать с документацией, планировать материально-техническое обеспечение, оценивать состояние помещений и оборудования, руководить персоналом. Кандидат должен пройти обучение по охране труда и пожарной безопасности, освоить навыки оказания первой помощи. Также важно, чтобы он знал правила личной гигиены и гигиены труда в конкретной организации.
