Заведующий методическим кабинетом обязан: руководить всеми видами деятельности методического кабинета; разрабатывать годовой и месячный планы работы кабинета; участвовать в планировании методической работы в колледже; оказывать методическую помощь учебному отделу, циклам и предметно-методическим комиссиям в реализации годового и месячных планов их работы; организовывать совместно с циклами и ПМК работу по научно-методическому обеспечению учебно-воспитательного процесса, проведению необходимых научных исследований и экспериментов; систематизировать, анализировать и обобщать материалы и предложения циклов и ПМК по методике обучения и воспитания курсантов; пропагандировать передовой опыт учебно-воспитательной и методической работы циклов, ПМК и отдельных преподавателей; координировать работу циклов и ПМК по внедрению результатов научных исследований и экспериментов, передового педагогического опыта в практику; содействовать использованию эффективных форм и методов повышения квалификации руководящих и педагогических работников (лекции, доклады, научные сообщения, тренинги, деловые игры, курсы по современным педагогическим технологиям и др.); разрабатывать перспективный план повышения квалификации педагогических работников; организовывать и проводить инструктивно-методические, показные занятия, а также занятия с молодыми преподавателями; участвовать в подготовке и проведении научно-практических и методических конференций, научных семинаров, специальных сборов по проблемам обучения и воспитания курсантов; готовить их материалы к изданию; планировать, участвовать в подготовке и проведении межцикловых предметно-методических заседаний; организовывать работу циклов и ПМК и участвовать в выпуске методических сборников и бюллетеней; периодически организовывать выставки педагогической и методической литературы; контролировать качество и методы учебных занятий и методическую работу циклов; обеспечивать необходимое оформление и оснащение методического кабинета учебным оборудованием, наглядными пособиями и техническими средствами; заведовать помещением "Методический кабинет", обеспечивать сохранность оборудования и выполнения требований охраны труда, техники безопасности, противопожарной защиты и производственной санитарии; осуществлять связь с высшими и профессиональными средними учебными заведениями морского профиля с целью изучения и обмена передовым педагогическим опытом; вести делопроизводство методического кабинета и учет проделанной методической работы, анализировать ее результаты и эффективность; составлять годовой отчет; систематически повышать свою квалификацию; организовывать процесс подготовки аттестации педагогических работников. обеспечивать сохранность проходящей служебной документации; соблюдать правила внутреннего трудового распорядка; вести анализ работы выпускников колледжа на ВФ ВМФ.

Стаж работы в учреждениях образования не менее 5 лет.
