Проведение профилактических прививок . Медсестра должна быть обучена технике проведения прививок, приёмам неотложной помощи в случае развития постпрививочных реакций, а также правилам соблюдения холодовой цепи и безопасности вакцинации. Проверка готовности к прививке . Медсестра проверяет наличие заключения врача о допуске к прививке, сверяет наименование препарата на ампуле с назначением врача, контролирует маркировку, срок годности препарата, целостность ампулы. Проведение иммунизации . Медсестра использует шприцы и иглы однократного применения, соответствующую дозу, соблюдает метод и место введения, предусмотренные инструкциями к препарату. Обработка после прививки . Медсестра убирает в холодильник ампулу или флакон, обеззараживает использованные шприцы, ватные тампоны, ампулы или флаконы, обеспечивает доставку использованных материалов к месту сбора для дальнейшей утилизации. Ведение документации . Медсестра делает запись о проведённой прививке в индивидуальную учётную форму с указанием даты иммунизации, названия препарата, дозы, серии, метода введения. Формирование картотек и планов прививок . Медсестра формирует групповые картотеки на основании карт профилактических прививок или компьютерную базу данных, формирует планы проведения прививок, контролирует их выполнение. Оформление согласия на медицинское вмешательство . Медсестра контролирует, чтобы все пациенты, которые проходят вакцинацию, подписывали такое согласие. Информирование пациентов . Медсестра информирует пациентов или их законных представителей о необходимости иммунизации, а также о последствиях в случае отказа. Сбор и утилизация медицинских отходов . Медсестра осуществляет сбор, хранение и транспортирование для утилизации медицинских отходов класса Б в соответствии с действующими санитарными правилами и нормами.

Знания техники проведения прививок, приёмов неотложной помощи в случае развития постпрививочных реакций, а также правил соблюдения холодовой цепи и безопасности вакцинации.
