Проводит диагностику исходного уровня сформированности трудовых и бытовых навыков у вновь поступивших воспитанников. Обучает воспитанников базовым навыкам самообслуживания: личной гигиене, уходу за одеждой и обувью, заправке постели, поддержанию порядка в жилых комнатах. Организует занятия по социально-бытовому труду: приготовление простой пищи, сервировка стола, мелкий ремонт одежды (пришивание пуговиц, наложение заплат), уход за личными вещами. Формирует навыки ведения домашнего хозяйства: уход за комнатными растениями, влажная уборка, мытье посуды, сортировка белья. Проводит занятия в творческих и ремесленных мастерских (швейная, столярная, кулинарная, гончарная, арт-терапевтическая) с целью развития мелкой моторики, творческого потенциала и эмоциональной разгрузки. Организует общественно полезный труд на территории центра (уход за клумбами, уборка территории, ремонт мебели и игрового инвентаря), формируя чувство ответственности за общее пространство.

Правила и нормы охраны труда, техники безопасности, производственной санитарии и пожарной безопасности. Методики преподавания ручного, технического и обслуживающего труда. Устройство, правила эксплуатации и методы технического обслуживания оборудования мастерских (станков, швейных машин, электроинструментов). Свойства материалов (древесины, тканей, металлов, продуктов питания) и способы их обработки. Современные образовательные и производственные технологии, а также требования рынка труда к профессиям.
