Оказывать воспитанникам первичную медико-санитарную помощь, в том числе экстренную и неотложную при острых заболеваниях или обострениях хронических. Систематически наблюдать за состоянием здоровья детей: регулярно проводить осмотры, измерять рост, вес и другие антропометрические показатели. Выявлять воспитанников, которым требуется более углублённое и систематическое врачебное наблюдение, и обеспечивать за ними нужный контроль. При наличии медицинских показаний направлять детей в медицинскую организацию, где они состоят на учёте, либо вызывать скорую помощь и организовывать транспортировку. Разрабатывать индивидуальные планы профилактических и оздоровительных мероприятий для детей с особенностями здоровья (с учётом группы состояния здоровья и медицинской группы для занятий физкультурой). Организовывать и проводить профилактические осмотры, скрининг-обследования и периодические медосмотры воспитанников. Осуществлять текущий контроль за санитарно-гигиеническим состоянием помещений: учебных кабинетов, мастерских, спортзалов, жилых комнат, столовой. Организовывать и проводить противоэпидемические мероприятия для предупреждения распространения инфекционных и паразитарных заболеваний. Проводить иммунопрофилактику в соответствии с Национальным календарём профилактических прививок. Проводить санитарно-просветительскую работу консультировать воспитанников, педагогов и родителей по вопросам здоровья.

1. Образование и право на медицинскую деятельность. Нужно высшее медицинское образование по одной из специальностей: Педиатрия, Лечебное дело или Стоматология . После получения диплома необходимо пройти аккредитацию и получить действующий сертификат специалиста. 2. Стаж работы не требуется . 3. Особые условия допуска к работе. Помимо сертификата, врач должен пройти обязательные медицинские осмотры (предварительный при трудоустройстве и периодические) в установленном порядке. Справка об отсутствии судимости и ограничений на работу с несовершеннолетними. 4. Специфика работы с детьми. Врач в школе-интернате решает особые задачи, поэтому ценятся дополнительные навыки и знания: умение работать с детской психологией и особенностями развития; навыки проведения профилактических осмотров, скрининг-обследований, интерпретации результатов анализов и инструментальных исследований; знание санитарно-гигиенических норм, которые применяются именно к условиям воспитания и обучения детей; умение разрабатывать индивидуальные планы наблюдения и оздоровления с учётом состояния здоровья каждого ребёнка.
