Метрологическое обеспечение разработки, производства, испытаний и эксплуатации продукции . Направлено на повышение её качества. Подготовка проектов перспективных и текущих планов внедрения новой измерительной техники, предложений к отраслевым планам метрологического обеспечения производства. Составление локальных поверочных схем по видам измерений, установление периодичности поверок средств измерений и разработка календарных графиков их проведения. Метрологическая экспертиза конструкторской и технологической документации, разрабатываемой на предприятии и поступающей от других предприятий. Выбор средств и методов измерений, разработка методик их выполнения. Участие в подготовке технических заданий на проектирование и в разработке средств измерений специального назначения, в подготовке продукции к аттестации и сертификации. Проверка сложных средств измерений, технологического оборудования на соответствие установленным нормам точности. Участие во внедрении государственных и отраслевых стандартов, стандартов предприятия и других нормативных документов, регламентирующих точность измерений. Расчёты экономической эффективности внедрения новых методов и средств измерений. Определение потребностей подразделений предприятия в средствах измерений, составление сводных заявок на их приобретение. Контроль за состоянием и правильностью монтажа, установки и применения средств измерений, техническая приёмка вновь поступающих на предприятие измерительных средств. Изучение передового отечественного и зарубежного опыта метрологического обеспечения производства. Участие в разработке и согласовании стандартов и других нормативных документов по вопросам метрологии. Составление отчётов о выполнении планов метрологического обеспечения производства.

для должностей без категории не менее трёх лет в области обеспечения единства измерений при наличии среднего профессионального образования; для должностей с категорией не менее трёх лет в области обеспечения единства измерений, в том числе не менее одного года в должности с более низкой категорией (при наличии среднего профессионального образования). Особые условия допуска к работе: прохождение подготовки и аттестации в области промышленной безопасности (при необходимости); прохождение обучения по охране труда и проверки знаний требований охраны труда; прохождение обязательных предварительных и периодических медицинских осмотров; прохождение обучения мерам пожарной безопасности.
