Разработка учредительных документов, обеспечение регистрации юридических лиц, эмиссий ценных акций, внесение изменений в учредительные документы. Проверка соответствия законодательству проектов приказов, инструкций, положений и других документов правового характера. Ведение договорной работы на предприятии: разработка проектов договоров, проверка соответствия законодательству проектов договоров, представляемых предприятию контрагентами. Ведение претензионной работы на предприятии: учёт претензий, поступающих от контрагентов, их рассмотрение, подготовка ответов на претензии и принятие решений об их удовлетворении. Ведение исковой работы: принятие мер по соблюдению доарбитражного порядка урегулирования договорных споров; подготовка исковых заявлений и материалов и передача их в арбитражные суды; изучение копий исковых заявлений по искам к предприятию; представление интересов предприятия в арбитражных судах. Подготовка заявок, заявлений и других документов для получения лицензий, разрешений, необходимых для осуществления деятельности предприятия. Участие в разработке документов, касающихся вопросов обеспечения сохранности собственности предприятия. Проверка законности увольнения и перевода работников, наложения на них дисциплинарных взысканий. Представление интересов предприятия при проверках, проводимых на предприятии государственными контрольно-надзорными органами. Консультирование работников предприятия по различным правовым вопросам, оказание правовой помощи в составлении юридических документов.

Квалификационные требования к юрисконсульту по Квалификационному справочнику должностей руководителей, специалистов и других служащих (утв. Постановлением Минтруда России от 21.08.1998 №37).
