Осуществляет оперативное руководство производственно-хозяйственной деятельностью животноводческого комплекса. Разрабатывает и доводит до подчиненных (операторов машинного доения, животноводов, телятниц, слесарей, подгонщиков) должностные обязанности. Организует кормление скота всех возрастных групп согласно рациона и распорядка дня. Организует и распределяет всех работников по рабочим местам, контролирует и принимает выполненную работу. Обеспечивает рабочих инвентарем и другими материалами, необходимыми при работе. Организует работу в непредвиденных ситуациях, сообщает руководству о случившемся (при вынужденном забое скота, авариях и срывах в работе) и принимает меры к их устранению. Работает в контакте с другими специалистами цеха животноводства. Участвует в разработке заданий по производству сельскохозяйственной продукции и обеспечивает их выполнение. Обеспечивает рациональное использование трудовых ресурсов, зданий, сооружений, технических и других средств производства, организацию производства, механизацию производственных процессов, выявление и использование резервов повышения производительности труда. Добивается экономии трудовых, материальных и денежных ресурсов. Организует учет и составление установленной отчетности о производственной деятельности отделения (фермы, сельскохозяйственного участка). Замеряет остатки молока до дойки и после дойки. Осуществляет учет расхода, поступления молока и скота, и оформляет все необходимые документы. В выходные дни лаборанта бригадир дневной смены животноводческого комплекса производит отбор проб молока и необходимые анализы, предусмотренные при отправке молока заказчику. Контролирует соблюдение работниками производственной, трудовой дисциплины, выполнение правил по охране труда, технике безопасности, противопожарной защите и производственной санитарии. Контролирует выполнение работниками своих обязанностей, ведет журналы замечаний, приемки и передачи смен скотниками(подгонщиками), журнал регистрации коров больных маститом, заполняемый операторами машинного доения совместно с ветеринарным врачом под роспись. Фиксирует все случаи нарушения трудовой дисциплины и докладывает об этом руководству письменно. Контролирует и устраняет все недостатки для недопущения производственного травматизма, соблюдение правил пожарной безопасности, производственной санитарии. Вносит предложения о поощрении отличившихся работников и наложении в необходимых случаях дисциплинарных взысканий на нарушителей производственной и трудовой дисциплины. Участвует в организации подготовки и повышения квалификации кадров.
