Профилактическое консультирование. Фельдшер проводит индивидуальные и групповые беседы с людьми в том числе с несовершеннолетними. Темы: личная гигиена, гигиена труда и отдыха, здоровое питание, физическая активность, отказ от курения и употребления алкоголя, меры профилактики конкретных болезней. Организация и проведение профилактических осмотров и диспансеризации. Фельдшер составляет списки граждан и планирует, как и когда пройдут осмотры и диспансеризация для разных групп населения (с учётом возраста). По итогам заполняет медицинскую документацию, в том числе в электронном виде. Диспансерное наблюдение. Он следит за людьми из групп высокого риска развития хронических неинфекционных заболеваний, а также за теми, у кого уже есть хронические заболевания (в том числе предраковые). Цель вовремя скорректировать лечение и план наблюдения. Отдельно фельдшер организует и проводит диспансерное наблюдение за женщинами в период физиологически протекающей беременности. Работа с факторами риска. Фельдшер выявляет у пациентов поведенческие и социальные факторы, которые повышают риск заболеваний (например, избыточный вес, артериальная гипертензия, повышенный уровень холестерина), и помогает их скорректировать. Иммунизация. Проводит иммунизацию населения в соответствии с национальным календарём профилактических прививок и календарём прививок по эпидемическим показаниям. Противоэпидемические мероприятия. Под руководством врача фельдшер участвует в комплексе мер при регистрации инфекционных заболеваний: проводит санитарно-гигиенические и противоэпидемические мероприятия, при необходимости информирует органы санитарно-эпидемиологического надзора. Санитарно-просветительская работа. Фельдшер разъясняет населению (в том числе в организованных коллективах школах, детских садах, на предприятиях) цели, задачи, объём и порядок прохождения профилактических осмотров и диспансеризации. Учёт и анализ. Он ведёт учёт населения, прикреплённого к фельдшерскому участку, формирует его паспорт, анализирует медико-статистические показатели (заболеваемость, инвалидность, смертность) для оценки здоровья прикреплённого контингента.
