2.1. Участвует в подготовке предложений к проектам планов работы отдела, их реализации. 2.2. Составляет отчеты о проделанной работе. 2.3. Выполняет работы по упорядочению документов архивов организаций: мелкий ремонт документов; подготовка дел к переплету; подшив и переплет дел; нумерацию листов; оформление обложек дел; простановку архивных шифров; формирование связок дел; прием-передачу дел после упорядочения. 2.4. Осуществляет все виды работ по реставрации поврежденных архивных документов на бумажной основе, реставрацию крупноформатных документов (карт, чертежей, газет). 2.5. Выполняет работы по ремонту архивных документов, наращиванию корешков к листам дел и газет. 2.6. Определяет виды повреждений печатных изданий и выполняет работы по их устранению. 2.7. Удаляет все виды загрязнений и материалов предыдущей реставрации, разъединяет слипшиеся листы. Выполняет все виды упрочнения листов. 2.8. Выполняет операции по подготовке документов к реставрации, ремонту и дезинфекции. 2.9. Осуществляет все виды переплетных работ документов, в том числе особо ценных: переплет, переплет с покрытием, мягкая подшивка дел и описей, замена обложек и утраченных корешков. 2.10.Готовит клеевые растворы по установленной рецептуре. 2.11. Определяет степень биологического повреждения документов, выясняет причины их появления и проводит камерную или ручную дезинфекцию. 2.12. Осуществляет прием и выдачу дел после проведения реставрационно-переплетных работ и дезинфекции. 2.13. Изготавливает ксерокопии архивных документов и печатных изданий. 2.14. Участвует в работе по ведению основных и вспомогательных учетных документов 2.15. Изучает отечественный и зарубежный опыт по профильным отделу направлениям, использует его в работе. 2.16. Принимает участие в оказании методической и практической помощи специалистам архивов и служб делопроизводства организаций - источников комплектования. 2.17. Участвует в осуществлении мероприятий по укрытию и эвакуации документов в особый период, спасению документов в чрезвычайных ситуациях 2.18. Выезжает в служебные командировки для выполнения служебного задания в пределах своей компетенции.

Должен знать: законы и иные нормативные правовые акты Российской Федерации, регламентирующие отношения в сфере архивного дела; нормативные и методические документы, касающиеся деятельности архива; вспомогательные исторические дисциплины; текстологию; состав и содержание комплекса документов, хранящихся в архиве; системы хранения и классификации архивных документов; нормативы условий и режимов хранения документов; виды справочно-поисковых средств архива; основы организации труда; порядок составления планово-отчетной документации; отечественный и зарубежный опыт в области архивоведения и документоведения; основы документационного обеспечения управления; основы применения компьютерной техники; правила внутреннего трудового распорядка; правила по охране труда и пожарной безопасности.
