Подготовка оборудования к работе. Перед сменой оператор проводит наружный осмотр котла, арматуры, контрольно-измерительных приборов (КИПиА), проверяет герметичность газопроводов, исправность вентиляции, аварийного освещения, системы автоматики, а также наличие и исправность средств индивидуальной защиты и противопожарного инвентаря. Пуск и остановка котла. Осуществляет растопку, пуск в работу и остановку котельного агрегата, регулирует процесс горения топлива. Контроль параметров. Постоянно следит по приборам за уровнем воды в котле, давлением пара и температурой воды, которая подаётся в отопительную систему. Регулирование нагрузки. Настраивает работу котлов в соответствии с графиком потребления тепла или газа. Предупреждение и устранение неисправностей. Выявляет неполадки в работе оборудования и принимает меры по их устранению. Участие в ремонте. Помогает в проведении планово-предупредительного ремонта котлоагрегатов и других элементов системы отопления. Ведение документации. Регулярно заполняет сменный журнал: фиксирует показания приборов, замечания, события, связанные с работой оборудования. Также может вести учёт потребления газа. Обеспечение безаварийной работы. Стремится к тому, чтобы оборудование функционировало стабильно и безопасно. Действия в аварийных ситуациях. При возникновении нештатных ситуаций (утечка газа, отклонение параметров и т.п.) останавливает котлы и котельную, сообщает ответственному лицу и действует согласно утверждённому плану локализации и ликвидации аварий. Приём и сдача смены. При смене дежурства оператор знакомится с записями в журнале, проводит обход, проверяет оборудование, уточняет ход ремонтных работ, принимает оперативную документацию и оформляет приём-сдачу смены (делает записи о выявленных недостатках).

Наличие свидетельства о профессии рабочего Оператор котельной . Опыт работы оператором котельной от 1 года. Знание устройства и принципов работы газовых котлов, вспомогательного оборудования, контрольно-измерительных приборов и автоматики. Знание правил безопасной эксплуатации газового оборудования и котлов, требований охраны труда, пожарной и электробезопасности. Умение контролировать параметры работы оборудования, выявлять неисправности и принимать меры по их устранению, вести эксплуатационно-техническую документацию. Навыки оказания первой помощи.
