Техническое обслуживание. Замена лампочек, устранение мелких неполадок (например, засоров), проверка мебели. Помощь горничным. Перестановка мебели, замена штор, установка дополнительных кроватей, вынос мусора, переворачивание тяжелых матрасов Транспортировка белья. Сбор использованного белья, доставка чистого белья из прачечной, контроль запасов. Уборка общественных зон. Машинная чистка ковров, мытье полов, окон, витражей, уборка прилегающей территории. Погрузочно-разгрузочные работы. Разгрузка товаров (белье, расходные материалы), доставка грузов на склад. Подготовка мероприятий. Расстановка мебели в конференц-залах, уборка после банкетов или корпоративных событий. Взаимодействие с гостями. Помощь с багажом, выполнение разовых поручений (доставка дополнительных принадлежностей).

Физическая выносливость. Работа связана с постоянным перемещением тяжестей: белье, мебель, оборудование. Поэтому физическая подготовка одно из основных требований. Навыки работы с оборудованием. Хаусмен должен уметь пользоваться профессиональным клининговым оборудованием, таким как поломоечные машины, пылесосы для влажной уборки, пеногенераторы. Аккуратность, внимательность к деталям. Поддержание чистоты требует тщательности: хаусмен должен следить за состоянием мебели, ковровых покрытий, а также других элементов интерьера. Исполнительность, дисциплинированность, умение работать в команде.
