Обеспечивание выполнения плана строительно-монтажных работ на возглавляемом участке. Контроль соблюдения технологии производства работ. Осуществление мероприятия по предупреждению брака и повышению качества работ, использование резервов повышения производительности труда. Производство необходимой разбивочной работы, геодезический контроль в ходе выполнения технологических операций и замеры объемов строительно-монтажных работ. Организация приемки материалов, конструкций, изделий, их складирование, учет и отчетность. Обеспечивание рационального использования на участке строительных машин, оборудования и транспортных средств, экономное расходование материалов. Создание условия для освоения и выполнения работниками действующих норм выработки. Производство расстановки бригад, звеньев и отдельных работников на участке, устанавливание производственных заданий, осуществление производственного инструктажа. Слежение за обеспечением бригад и отдельных работников инструментом, приспособлениями, средствами малой механизации, транспортом, спецодеждой, защитными средствами. Обеспечивание применения в соответствии с назначением технологической оснастки (лесов, подмостей, защитных приспособлений, креплений стенок котлованов и траншей, подкосов и других устройств), строительных машин, энергетических установок, транспортных средств и средств защиты работников. Контроль обеспечения рабочих мест знаками безопасности, предупредительными надписями и плакатами. Обеспечивание соблюдения чистоты и порядка на рабочих местах, в санитарно-бытовых помещениях, в проходах и на подъездных путях, правильное содержание и эксплуатацию подкрановых путей. Контроль соблюдения работниками производственной и трудовой дисциплины, правил по охране труда.

Должен знать законы и иные нормативные правовые акты Российской Федерации, методические и нормативные документы, касающиеся деятельности строительных участков; технологию производства строительных и монтажных работ; принципы планирования работы на возглавляемом участке; технические характеристики применяемых строительных машин, механизированного инструмента, приспособлений, основных геодезических инструментов; нормы и расценки на выполняемые работы; положения об оплате труда; основы организации строительного производства; проектно-сметную документацию на строящиеся объекты; строительные нормы и правила, технические условия на производство и приемку строительно-монтажных работ; требования режима секретности, сохранности служебной, коммерческой и государственной тайны, неразглашения сведений конфиденциального характера; основы экономики, организации труда и управления; основы трудового законодательства; правила по охране окружающей среды; правила по охране труда и пожарной безопасности; правила внутреннего трудового распорядка.
