Дежурный врач: Заступает на дежурство в соответствии с установленным графиком дежурств. Получает сведения от дежурного персонала ЛПУ о количестве больных, наличии свободных коек в отделениях, укомплектованности структурных подразделений дежурным персоналом. Ведет запись в журнале дежурного врача о приеме и сдаче дежурства с указанием обо всех событиях, происшествиях и принятых мерах, а также обо всех летальных исходах. Принимает необходимые меры к укомплектованию дежурным персоналом подразделений ЛПУ. В необходимых случаях инструктирует дежурный персонал об изменениях и распоряжениях руководства ЛПУ, соблюдение которых необходимо для несения дежурства. Совершает обходы структурных подразделений ЛПУ с целью личного ознакомления с работой дежурного персонала ЛПУ. Проверяет наличие и правильность хранения необходимых медикаментов, перевязочного материала, белья и другого необходимого инвентаря, оборудования, а также дежурного автотранспорта. Является по вызову дежурного персонала больницы. В необходимых случаях решает вопросы госпитализации, выписки больных из стационара, перевода в другие отделения и стационары, организует вызов консультантов, специализированных бригад и др. В случаях нарушения установленных правил дежурным персоналом принимает необходимые меры к их устранению с соответствующей записью в журнале о них для сведения руководителей структурных подразделений ЛПУ. В чрезвычайных условиях руководит действиями персонала ЛПУ по эвакуации больных, оборудования и других материальных ценностей, оповещая об этом главного врача больницы и вышестоящий орган здравоохранения. Организует работу персонала при подозрении на наличие особо опасной инфекции. Снимает пробу с приготовленной пищи и дает разрешение на раздачу ее больным. Принимает меры к своевременному устранению возникших неисправностей в работе водопроводной, осветительной, отопительной и других систем ЛПУ. В установленном порядке вызывает при необходимости представителей органов милиции, пожарную охрану, информирует главного врача ЛПУ или его заместителя обо всех происшествиях за время дежурства и принятых мерах. Своевременно сообщает работникам приемного отделения о своем месте пребывания в ЛПУ. Следит за соблюдением дежурным персоналом ЛПУ, больными и посетителями санитарно-гигиенического, противоэпидемического режимов, правил техники безопасности и противопожарных правил, правил внутреннего трудового распорядка. Следит за правильным хранением и использованием материальных ценностей в ЛПУ.

На должность заведующего Отделением назначается специалист, соответствующий Квалификационным требованиям к специалистам с высшим и послевузовским медицинским и фармацевтическим образованием в сфере здравоохранения,
