Специалист помогает реализовывать образовательные программы: разрабатывает программы развития универсальных учебных действий, программы воспитания и социализации, коррекционные программы. Также он может давать психологические рекомендации для составления индивидуальных учебных планов (в том числе для одарённых детей). Психологическая экспертиза среды. Педагог-психолог оценивает, насколько комфортна и безопасна образовательная среда в организации. Он проводит мониторинг: анализирует, насколько эффективны применяемые методы и средства обучения с учётом развития детей. Ещё одна задача психологическая экспертиза программ развития учреждения. Консультирование. Специалист консультирует разных участников образовательного процесса: обучающихся по вопросам самопознания, профессионального самоопределения, личностных проблем, взаимоотношений в коллективе; педагогов и администрации по профессиональным вопросам, проблемам взаимодействия с детьми, по разработке индивидуальных образовательных маршрутов; родителей (законных представителей) по проблемам взаимоотношений с ребёнком, его развития, профессионального самоопределения.
