Ведет персонифицированный учет и информационную (компьютерную) базу данных состояния здоровья обслуживаемого населения, участвует в формировании групп диспансерных больных и граждан, нуждающихся в медико-социальном обслуживании на дому. Ведет учетную медицинскую документацию (статистические талоны, карты экстренного извещения, бланки направлений на диагностические исследования, санаторно-курортные карты, контрольные карты диспансерного наблюдения, паспорт участка и т.д.). Оказывает больным и пострадавшим доврачебную помощь при неотложных состояниях. Организует амбулаторный прием врача общей практики (семейного врача): подготовку рабочего места, приборов, инструментов, медицинских карт амбулаторного больного, бланков рецептов, предварительный сбор анамнеза, необходимые скрининговые исследования (измерение АД, ВГД, антропометрия, онкоцитология и т.д.) Выполняет назначенные врачом инъекции в дневном стационаре. Выполняет назначенные врачом профилактические, лечебные, диагностические, реабилитационные мероприятия в амбулатории и на дому, участвует в проведении амбулаторных операций. Соблюдает санитарно-гигиенический режим в помещении, правила асептики и антисептики, условия стерилизации инструментов и материалов, меры предупреждения постинъекционных осложнений, гепатита, ВИЧ/СПИД, согласно действующим инструкциям и приказам. Обеспечивает кабинет врача общей практики необходимыми медикаментами, спецодеждой. Учитывает расход медикаментов, перевязочных материалов, инструментов, бланков специального учета. Контролирует сохранность и исправность медицинской аппаратуры и оборудования, их своевременный ремонт и списание. Проводит динамическое медицинское наблюдение за состоянием здоровья отдельных категорий граждан, в том числе геронтологической группы. Осуществляет патронажные посещения к детям, беременным и родильницам.
