Сбор анамнеза, осмотр, интерпретация результатов обследований (УЗИ, КТ, МРТ, лабораторные анализы, биопсии), подтверждение диагноза, определение стадии опухолей и оценка её распространённости. Выполнение операций. Ключевая часть работы. Проводить хирургические вмешательства при опухолях органов брюшной полости: желудка, кишечника, печени, поджелудочной железы, желчных протоков, а также забрюшинных новообразований. Владеть разными подходами: от малоинвазивных (лапароскопических) до сложных открытых, комбинированных или реконструктивных операций (например, создание анастомозов соединений между органами, или работа со стомами). Иногда требуется удаление опухоли вместе с поражённым участком органа и регионарными лимфоузлами. Планирование лечения. На основе диагностики врач обосновывает тактику: будет ли достаточно операции, потребуется ли комбинировать её с химиотерапией, лучевой терапией или другими методами. Часто перед решением о хирургическом вмешательстве случай обсуждают на консилиуме вместе с химиотерапевтами, радиологами, патоморфологами и другими специалистами. Реабилитация. Участие в разработке плана восстановления: помочь пациенту адаптироваться после обширных вмешательств, давать рекомендации по питанию, физической активности, контролирует восстановление функций органов.
