Диагностика и лечение: Амбулаторный прием, сбор анамнеза, визометрия (проверка остроты зрения), тонометрия (измерение давления), биомикроскопия, осмотр глазного дна. Назначение консервативного лечения при конъюнктивитах, кератитах, глаукоме, катаракте и других патологиях. Оказание неотложной помощи: Удаление инородных тел из глаза, первая помощь при ожогах, травмах и острых воспалительных процессах. Направление на госпитализацию и ВМП: Определение показаний для направления пациентов в областные или республиканские офтальмологические центры для проведения операций (например, замена хрусталика при катаракте) или получения высокотехнологичной медицинской помощи. Экспертиза трудоспособности: Определение признаков временной нетрудоспособности, направление на медико-социальную экспертизу (МСЭ) при стойком нарушении зрения. Профилактика и диспансеризация: Проведение профилактических осмотров декретированных групп населения, выявление факторов риска (глаукома, диабетическая ретинопатия), диспансерное наблюдение за хроническими больными. Подбор коррекции: Подбор очков и контактных линз для пациентов с аномалиями рефракции (миопия, гиперметропия, астигматизм, пресбиопия). Санитарно-просветительная работа: Консультирование населения по вопросам гигиены зрения, профилактики слепоты и возрастных изменений глаз.

Предельная внимательность к деталям и концентрация. Диагностика глазных болезней строится на мельчайших визуальных признаках (состояние сосудов глазного дна, форма хрусталика, вид роговицы). Ошибка в миллиметр при осмотре или подборе коррекции может привести к неверному диагнозу. Терпение. Значительная часть пациентов в сельской местности пожилые люди с катарактой, глаукомой или возрастными изменениями. Они часто плохо видят, медленно говорят и с трудом выполняют инструкции врача (например, при проверке зрения по таблице). Стрессоустойчивость. Способность сохранять спокойствие при оказании экстренной помощи (удаление инородного тела, помощь при остром приступе глаукомы или травме глаза), когда действовать нужно быстро и точно. Хорошая мелкая моторика и координация. Это критически важно не только для потенциального микрохирургического вмешательства, но и для проведения точных диагностических манипуляций (биомикроскопия, тонометрия, осмотр глазного дна). Физическая выносливость. Готовность к выездным осмотрам в составе комплексных врачебных бригад в отдаленные села, что требует работы в неприспособленных условиях.
