Ведение статистического учёта. Специалист собирает данные из подразделений медорганизации: получает заполненные учётные формы (например, статистические талоны, карты выбывших из стационара), систематизирует их. Подготовка отчётности. На основе собранных данных врач-статистик формирует отчёты для руководства как периодические (неделя, месяц, квартал), так и годовые. Анализ показателей. Он рассчитывает разные статистические показатели: характеризующие работу самой организации (например, загруженность отделений, качество лечебной работы), а также показатели здоровья населения (заболеваемость, смертность, выход на инвалидность, эффективность диспансеризации). При анализе использует разные методы: строит комбинационные таблицы, графики, диаграммы, применяет методы стандартизации, оценивает достоверность результатов. Работа с классификаторами. Важная часть кодирование диагностических записей в медицинских документах в соответствии с Международной классификацией болезней (МКБ). Организация документооборота. Врач-статистик выстраивает внутри организации систему сбора и движения статистических данных, обеспечивает их рациональное хранение (в подразделениях и в архиве), а также своевременную сдачу документов в архив в установленном порядке. Обеспечение достоверности. Одна из ключевых задач следить за полнотой регистрации данных и гарантировать, что собранная медико-статистическая информация достоверна. Консультирование и обучение. Специалист консультирует сотрудников медорганизации по вопросам медицинской статистики, а также может проводить для них занятия или семинары. Соблюдение норм. В обязанности входит строгое следование требованиям по защите персональных данных пациентов и сведений, составляющих врачебную тайну. Планирование и отчётность о собственной работе. Врач-статистик планирует свою деятельность, а также составляет отчёт о проделанной работе. Взаимодействие. Он взаимодействует с руководством организации и руководителями других подразделений по вопросам статистической работы.
