- Осуществляет контроль и управление организационно-технологическим состоянием отрасли животноводства. - Cовместно с главным зоотехником организует разработку и осуществление мероприятий по интенсификации производства, эффективному использованию основных средств производства, трудовых и материальных ресурсов, по повышению продуктивности скота, снижению себестоимости продукции, росту производительности труда и рентабельности отрасли животноводства. - Участвует в разработке перспективных и годовых планов и задач подразделений животноводства, составления годового бюджета отрасли. - Проводит работу по формированию прочной кормовой базы, обеспечению животноводства качественными кормами собственного производства, ведет контроль за процессом заготовки кормов, соблюдением технологии консервирования (внесения консервантов) и качественного укрытия мест хранения пленкой. - Производит прием кормов от подразделений растениеводства, определение их качестваи количества, своевременно организует исследование образцов в лаборатории. - Систематически следит за местами хранения кормов, контролирует работу подсобных рабочих по вскрытию силосных траншей и измельчению соломы. При нарушениях принимает меры к их исправлению. - В постоянном контакте с фуражирами кормоцеха "АИСТ" и Фермы № 2, ведет контроль и выборочный анализ качества покупных кормов, организует их приемку и выгрузку. - Участвует в разработке предложений и рассмотрений проектов реконструкции, ремонте помещений кормоцехов, следит за исправностью работы их оборудования и механизмов, кочество помола зерна. - Проверяет готовность складских помещений к размещению кормов. Контролирует работу миксеров-раздатчиков, исправность их микрокомпьютеров, антенн. Производит контроль смешивания рациона на кормовых столах, вносит коррективы. При помощи "Пенсильванского сита" производит выборочный контрольоптимального измельчения ингридиентов рациона кормления. -Анализирует данные программы контроля за кормлением "Dinamica generale". - Ежемесячно составляет лимиты кормления для всех ферм, согласованные с главным зоотехником.

Зоотехник-технолог должен знать: - технологию производства молока и выращивания молодняка КРС; - основы племенного дела; - стандарты на продукцию животноводства; - анатомию, физиологию, биологические особенности различных видов домашних животных, научные основы их содержания и кормления; - достижения науки, передовые технологии, отечественный и зарубежный опыт по вопросам зоотехнии.
