Выполнение лабораторных исследований. Проводить анализы в соответствии с установленными стандартами и нормами нагрузки. Работать как на автоматических анализаторах, так и с ручными методиками. Организация рабочего процесса. Подготавливать рабочее место, контролировать наличие и срок годности реактивов, участвовать в планировании закупок. Контроль качества. Обеспечивать качество на всех этапах: преаналитическом (правила взятия, транспортировки биоматериала), аналитическом (сам процесс исследования) и постаналитическом (проверка и интерпретация результатов). Проводить внутрилабораторный контроль, участвовать во внешнем контроле качества. Валидация и интерпретация результатов. Проверять корректность данных, оценивать их полноту и клиническую значимость. Сопоставлять результаты с референсными интервалами, критическими значениями и клинической картиной пациента. Формулировать заключения по результатам исследований. Консультирование. Консультировать врачей других специальностей по вопросам назначения исследований, интерпретации результатов, а также давать рекомендации по правилам взятия, хранения и транспортировки биоматериала. Работа с документацией. Вести медицинскую документацию в установленном порядке. Вносить данные в лабораторную информационную систему (ЛИС). Составлять отчёты о проделанной работе, участвовать в анализе показателей деятельности лаборатории. Руководство персоналом. Если в подчинении есть средний и младший медицинский персонал (лаборанты, медицинские лабораторные техники), в обязанности может входить контроль их работы, проведение инструктажей, помощь в решении рабочих вопросов. Внедрение инноваций. Изучать и осваивать новые методы исследований, современное оборудование и медицинские изделия для диагностики in vitro, внедрять их в практику. Соблюдение норм. Обеспечивать соблюдение санитарно-эпидемиологических требований и правил техники безопасности на рабочем месте.

Понимание патофизиологических механизмов заболеваний и того, как они отражаются в лабораторных показателях. Знание референсных интервалов и того, как на результаты влияют возраст, пол, физиологическое состояние пациента, приём лекарств, питание, физическая нагрузка. Умение работать с современным лабораторным оборудованием (гематологические и биохимические анализаторы, проточные цитометры и др.). Навыки организации преаналитического этапа (правила взятия, транспортировки биоматериала), проведения внутрилабораторного контроля качества, интерпретации результатов в контексте клинической картины. Умение выявлять факторы, которые могут исказить результат (интерференции), и принимать корректирующие меры. Знание принципов врачебной этики и деонтологии, умение соблюдать врачебную тайну.
