Принимает и проверяет первичные учётные формы из подразделений (статистические талоны, карты выбывших из стационара, талоны амбулаторных посещений, направления на МСЭ и др.): контролирует полноту заполнения, наличие обязательных реквизитов, корректность кодов диагнозов по МКБ‑10. Выявляет ошибки и расхождения, возвращает документы на доработку либо запрашивает уточнения у ответственных лиц; фиксирует замечания и сроки устранения. Группирует данные по нужным признакам: по отделениям, профилям помощи, диагнозам, возрасту/полу пациентов, источникам финансирования (ОМС, ДМС, платные услуги), срокам лечения.

Координирует сбор данных с подразделениями: поликлиникой, стационаром, приёмным отделением, лабораторией, патологоанатомическим отделением, кабинетом учёта и медицинской статистики. Взаимодействует с внешними структурами: территориальными органами Росстата, ТФОМС, Минздравом субъекта, бюро МСЭ по вопросам предоставления отчётности, уточнения методик, сверки данных. Участвует в комиссиях и рабочих группах по качеству и безопасности медпомощи, анализу летальных исходов, диспансеризации, профилактике: предоставляет статистические данные, помогает интерпретировать показатели.
