Библиотекарь исполняет следующие обязанности: 1. Осуществляет работу по библиотечно-информационному обслуживанию читателей: 2. Организует разработку перспективных и текущих планов работы библиотеки и контролирует их выполнение; 3. Ведет учет деятельности библиотеки; 4. Обеспечивает работу по обслуживанию читателей, включающих в себя индивидуальные и массовые формы обслуживания, справочно-библиографическое обеспечение; 5. Принимает участие в комплектовании библиотечных фондов библиотеки; 6. Изучает и применяет в своей деятельности передовой опыт работы отечественных и зарубежных библиотек; 7. Осуществляет связь с другими библиотеками; 8. Принимает участие в производственных процессах, обеспечивает их качество и эффективность на основе широкого использования современных технологий, научно обоснованных нормативов; 9. Принимает участие в работах, связанных с маркетинговыми исследованиями в области формирования и использования ресурсов библиотеки, состава читателей, спроса на библиотечные услуги. 10. Участвует в системе непрерывного образования и повышения квалификации библиотечных работников. 11. Осуществляет организацию библиотечного фонда: - обеспечивает систематически-алфавитную расстановку документов - организует демонстрацию тематических и жанровых выставок; - следит за сохранностью библиотечного фонда при открытом доступе; - принимает меры для своевременного возврата документов; - принимает участие в периодических проверках фонда; - поддерживает соответствующий санитарно-гигиенический режим 12. Отвечает за ведение справочно-библиографического аппарата ведет и редактирует алфавитный и систематический каталоги, тематические картотеки; 13. Организует связь с дошкольными и учебными заведениями, общественными организациями, учреждениями и организациями сотрудничающими с библиотекой; 14. Осуществляет мероприятия по эстетическому оформлению библиотеки (порядок на рабочем месте, художественное оформление, чистота, цветы, внешний вид библиотекаря). 15. Собирает архив выполненных справок, краеведческих документов. Ведет Летопись села; 16. Обязан регулярно повышать свою квалификацию, знакомиться с профессиональной литературой и периодическими изданиями.

Высшее или среднее профессиональное образование (библиотечное, культуры и искусства, педагогическое) и стаж работы в должности (библиотекаря) не менее 3 лет.
