This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Anza Exchange GM based in the United States.

Are you an entrepreneurial leader ready to build and scale a new B2B marketplace from the ground up? In this role, you will take ownership of a live marketplace pilot and transform it into a growing business connecting buyers and sellers of critical energy and industrial equipment. You will lead the business end to end, shaping its strategy, product roadmap, commercial development, team structure, and financial performance. Working directly with executive leadership and engineering teams, you will turn market opportunities into scalable products, efficient transaction workflows, and measurable business results. You will drive both sides of the marketplace by attracting equipment suppliers, activating buyers, and creating a seamless experience that encourages repeat transactions. This founding leadership opportunity combines strategic decision-making with hands-on execution in a fast-moving, technology-enabled environment. If you have experience scaling marketplaces or transaction-driven B2B businesses and thrive on building new ventures, this role offers the opportunity to shape an innovative platform addressing critical supply chain challenges.

Accountabilities

  • Own the business strategy and performance: Lead the marketplace from its current pilot stage through growth and scale, taking responsibility for business strategy, commercial performance, product development, and overall profitability.
  • Develop the supply side: Identify, engage, and onboard equipment owners, manufacturers, and other suppliers, building a strong inventory base that attracts prospective buyers.
  • Drive demand generation: Build relationships with project developers, procurement leaders, and other potential buyers, converting initial interest into active participation and repeat transactions.
  • Design the transaction model: Develop and refine the marketplace's commercial model, transaction processes, and deal workflows to make buying and selling complex equipment more efficient and reliable.
  • Lead product strategy and execution: Define and prioritize the product roadmap, translate business needs into product requirements, and collaborate directly with engineers to develop, launch, and improve platform capabilities.
  • Optimize the marketplace experience: Identify opportunities to reduce friction throughout the buying and selling journey, improve transaction efficiency, and strengthen engagement across both sides of the marketplace.
  • Leverage existing commercial relationships: Partner with internal commercial teams to identify new opportunities, expand market reach, and accelerate customer acquisition and marketplace adoption.
  • Build and develop the team: Lead the initial dedicated team, recruit additional talent as the business grows, and establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage financial performance: Monitor revenue, unit economics, operating costs, and other key business metrics, using performance insights to guide strategic priorities and investment decisions.
  • Report to executive leadership: Provide regular updates to the CEO and executive team on business performance, growth opportunities, operational challenges, and resource requirements.
  • Build scalable operating processes: Establish the systems, workflows, and organizational capabilities needed to support increasing transaction volume and long-term business growth.
  • Identify market opportunities: Analyze customer needs, industry dynamics, supply chain challenges, and emerging opportunities to refine the marketplace's value proposition and competitive positioning.
  • Professional experience: At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years building, scaling, or leading a two-sided marketplace, B2B platform, or transaction-driven business.
  • Marketplace or business leadership: Demonstrated ability to develop a business model, attract participants on both sides of a marketplace, drive transactions, and establish repeatable growth strategies.
  • Business development expertise: Strong commercial and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to negotiate and close deals involving enterprise customers, industrial organizations, or other complex business counterparties.
  • Product management experience: Experience defining product strategy, prioritizing features, translating business objectives into product requirements, and working directly with engineering teams to deliver solutions.
  • Financial and operational ownership: Experience managing a P&L or clear accountability for revenue generation, unit economics, and business performance is a significant advantage.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: Experience as a founder, early-stage employee, general manager, or leader responsible for launching and scaling a new business line is preferred.
  • Industry knowledge: Familiarity with industrial equipment, energy, construction, logistics, or other complex B2B supply chains is beneficial.
  • Relevant industry relationships: Existing connections with independent power producers (IPPs), project developers, utilities, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firms, or equipment original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are a plus.
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to identify market opportunities, assess business risks, develop a clear strategic direction, and translate long-term objectives into actionable plans.
  • Execution and problem-solving: A hands-on approach to overcoming operational challenges, testing new ideas, refining processes, and delivering measurable outcomes in an evolving business environment.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align engineering, commercial, and executive stakeholders around shared priorities.
  • Team leadership: Ability to recruit, coach, motivate, and develop a high-performing team while fostering accountability and a strong ownership mentality.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a lean, fast-paced environment where responsibilities span strategic planning, product development, commercial execution, and operational management.
  • Growth orientation: Ambition to build a substantial business, combined with the initiative and resilience required to navigate uncertainty and scale a new venture.
  • Competitive compensation: Annual salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000.
  • Equity opportunities: Access to an attractive equity program designed to encourage ownership and align employee contributions with long-term business success.
  • Comprehensive healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Health and wellness: Access to a comprehensive wellness program.
  • Life and disability insurance: Coverage designed to provide additional financial protection.
  • Retirement savings: A 401(k) plan with company matching contributions and immediate vesting.
  • Flexible work arrangements: Self-managed work schedules that support autonomy and work-life balance.
  • Flexible time off: Self-managed time-off policies that encourage employees to balance professional responsibilities with personal needs.
  • Professional development: Continuing education assistance and opportunities to develop new skills.
  • Executive-level ownership: Direct reporting to the CEO, with meaningful influence over business strategy, investment priorities, and long-term growth.
  • Founding leadership opportunity: The chance to shape a new marketplace business, establish its operating model, and build a team and product from an early stage.
  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside experienced professionals in a culture focused on teamwork, continuous improvement, and entrepreneurial ownership.
  • Remote work: Opportunity to work remotely from the United States.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
