Role Overview
The Area Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence across the assigned territory in East India, with a particular focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, customers, and distributors while developing new business opportunities. You will manage the complete sales cycle, from lead generation and customer engagement to deal closure and revenue growth. Accountabilities
- Drive regional sales performance: Manage sales activities across the assigned territory, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, to achieve sales targets and accelerate business growth.
- Manage customer relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, customers, and distributors to improve engagement, build trust, and support long-term business partnerships.
- Generate and convert business opportunities: Manage leads throughout the sales cycle, independently convert prospects into customers, and identify opportunities to expand the regional customer base.
- Oversee distributor performance: Establish productive relationships with distributors, monitor their performance against business objectives, and ensure accountability for sales results and market development.
- Manage the sales pipeline: Maintain accurate visibility into sales opportunities, prioritize prospects, track progress, and develop strategies to improve conversion rates and revenue generation.
- Drive account growth: Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, strengthen existing accounts, and maximize the commercial potential of products within the assigned territory.
- Execute clinical and marketing activities: Conduct product demonstrations, deliver customer education, and support clinical and marketing initiatives that increase product awareness and generate demand.
- Maintain product and clinical expertise: Stay informed about product features, applications, and relevant clinical developments to provide effective customer support and communicate product value.
- Coordinate territory operations: Plan and monitor inventory requirements, forecast demand, and support product availability to meet customer needs efficiently.
- Monitor market intelligence: Track competitor activities, industry developments, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and inform regional sales strategies.
- Ensure commercial discipline: Follow up on outstanding payments and support timely collections while maintaining effective customer and distributor relationships.
- Manage regional travel: Travel regularly within the assigned territory to engage customers, support distributors, conduct sales activities, and develop new business opportunities.
- Educational qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent undergraduate qualification is required. A degree in engineering, science, business, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Relevant sales experience: Ideally, 2–4 years of experience in sales within the medical technology, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or life sciences sectors. Experience with established national or international organizations is an advantage.
- Sales and business development skills: Demonstrated ability to generate leads, manage sales pipelines, close deals independently, achieve sales targets, and identify opportunities for business expansion.
- Customer relationship management: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with healthcare professionals, customers, and distribution partners.
- Distributor management capabilities: Ability to coordinate with distributors, monitor performance, encourage accountability, and support the achievement of regional commercial objectives.
- Communication and presentation skills: Excellent verbal communication, customer engagement, and presentation abilities, including confidence in conducting product demonstrations and delivering product education.
