This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Tax and Treasury based in United States.
As Director, Tax and Treasury, you will lead the company’s tax strategy, compliance, reporting, cash management, and treasury operations across a growing, multi-entity business. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will provide strategic guidance on liquidity, financing, capital deployment, tax exposure, and financial risk. You will work closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Human Resources, Payroll, executive leadership, external advisors, and banking partners. The role combines technical expertise with commercially minded decision-making to support growth, financing activities, acquisitions, and international expansion. You will strengthen financial controls, improve cash visibility, and develop scalable processes across tax and treasury functions. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a highly analytical and trusted finance professional who can translate complex financial matters into practical recommendations.
Accountabilities:
- Lead tax strategy, compliance, reporting, and planning activities across applicable U.S. and international jurisdictions.
- Oversee quarterly and annual income tax provision processes, tax filings, estimated payments, tax elections, documentation, internal controls, audits, examinations, notices, and tax controversy matters.
- Monitor tax law and regulatory developments, assess their business impact, and recommend actions that manage risk and improve tax efficiency.
- Lead treasury operations, including cash positioning, liquidity monitoring, cash-flow forecasting, banking administration, payment controls, short-term investments, and working-capital optimization.
- Manage banking relationships, debt facilities, letters of credit, guarantees, covenant compliance, and related lender reporting.
- Establish and maintain treasury policies, controls, delegations of authority, and processes designed to protect company assets and reduce financial and fraud risk.
- Advise the CFO and executive leadership on tax exposure, liquidity, financing, capital deployment, financial risk, and other high-impact financial decisions.
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, HR, Payroll, and external advisors on tax reporting, transaction structuring, acquisitions, financing activities, international operations, equity compensation, and cross-border matters.
- Lead and develop tax and treasury team members while managing external advisors, banking partners, consultants, and other critical third parties.
- Provide clear financial reporting and strategic insights to executive leadership, the Board, and Audit Committee as needed.
- Identify and implement scalable improvements to systems, controls, automation, workflows, and reporting across tax and treasury functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, treasury, public accounting, corporate finance, or a combination of related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading tax compliance, tax provision, tax planning, treasury operations, cash management, banking relationships, debt administration, or related functions.
- Strong knowledge of tax principles, financial reporting requirements, internal controls, cash management practices, and treasury best practices.
- Experience managing tax compliance and reporting across multiple entities, jurisdictions, or business lines.
- Proven experience developing cash-flow forecasts, liquidity plans, working-capital strategies, and executive-level financial reporting.
- Experience managing banking partners, external tax advisors, lenders, consultants, and other critical third-party relationships.
- Experience with ERP, treasury management, tax provision, and financial planning systems, along with advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
- Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex, high-impact financial matters.
- Ability to translate technical tax, treasury, financing, and financial risk topics into clear, practical recommendations for executive stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver reliable results in a fast-moving environment.
- High integrity, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential financial, legal, and employee-related information.
- CPA, CA, CMA, CFA, CTP, or an advanced degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience in multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional, or international business environments is preferred.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, corporate restructuring, purchase accounting, or rapid-growth environments is a plus.
- Experience with international expansion, cross-border financing, intercompany funding, foreign exchange, or global cash management is advantageous.
- Experience supporting public-company reporting, Audit Committee materials, debt compliance, or investor-facing financial processes is a plus.
- $225,000–$270,000 USD annual base salary.
