The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Editorial QA Specialist and Copy Editor (Spanish) based in United States.

This remote contract role focuses on ensuring the quality, accuracy, and clarity of Spanish-language educational content. You’ll review machine-translated English-to-Spanish materials and refine them so they accurately preserve meaning, tone, and instructional intent. The role combines linguistic expertise, editorial judgment, cultural awareness, and meticulous quality assurance. You’ll work with complex educational content where precision and accessibility directly contribute to better learning experiences. Success requires balancing high-quality editing with strong productivity, consistency, and turnaround times. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to resolve nuances and maintain coherent terminology across materials. This is an excellent opportunity for a Spanish language specialist who enjoys detail-oriented editorial work and technology-enabled workflows.

Accountabilities

  • Review machine-translated English-to-Spanish educational materials for grammatical accuracy, linguistic quality, clarity, cultural relevance, and fidelity to the original content.
  • Edit and refine translated materials to ensure natural Spanish, consistent terminology, appropriate tone, and alignment with established editorial standards.
  • Identify translation errors, ambiguous language, inconsistencies, terminology mismatches, and other quality issues, providing accurate corrected versions.
  • Preserve the original meaning and instructional intent while improving readability and linguistic precision.
  • Maintain strong productivity and throughput while consistently meeting quality standards and required turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to clarify source content, resolve translation nuances, and ensure accurate interpretation of instructional materials.
  • Apply strong editorial judgment when reviewing AI- and machine-generated translations, recognizing where automated output requires correction or contextual refinement.
  • Support consistent, accessible, and inclusive language across educational content.
  • Maintain attention to detail across potentially large volumes of structured content while independently organizing and prioritizing assigned work.
  • Native or near-native Spanish fluency with an excellent command of Spanish grammar, syntax, vocabulary, style, and regional language nuances.
  • Strong English reading comprehension and the ability to accurately interpret complex educational and instructional material.
  • Previous experience in translation, linguistic quality assurance, copy editing, proofreading, localization, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver polished, accurate work under tight deadlines without compromising linguistic quality.
  • Comfort working with machine-translation tools, AI-assisted workflows, and digital content-management or editing environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong ability to identify subtle grammatical, stylistic, semantic, and terminology issues.
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills, with the ability to handle workload independently and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with K–12 educational terminology, curriculum, assessments, or instructional content is a plus.
  • Experience working with structured content such as curriculum materials, assessments, learning platforms, or user-interface text is preferred.
  • Background in localization management, linguistic QA processes, or editorial quality programs is an advantage.
  • Strong commitment to clear, inclusive, accessible communication and high-quality learning experiences.
  • $31 per hour for this contract position.
  • Compensation may vary based on geographic location, prior experience, seniority, and demonstrated role-related capabilities during the interview process.
  • Fully remote work from anywhere in the United States.
  • Opportunity to contribute to educational content designed to support more equitable and adaptive learning experiences.
  • Exposure to AI- and machine-translation workflows within a technology-driven editorial environment.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with product, content, curriculum, and other cross-functional teams.
  • The source posting also outlines benefits for eligible full-time permanent employees, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan, flexible vacation, paid sick time, holidays, family leave, bereavement leave, commuter benefits, and FSA plans; these benefits may not apply to this contract position.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
