We are seeking a Data Engineer to help build, evolve, and maintain a scalable, reliable data architecture that supports strategic decision-making across the business. In this role, you will design and optimize data pipelines, develop ETL/ELT processes, and contribute to modern data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse solutions. Accountabilities
- Design, build, and evolve data architectures across data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse environments to support current and future business needs.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize robust, scalable ETL/ELT workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Design and implement reliable data pipelines, ensuring efficient processing and consistent access to high-quality data.
- Model databases using established design principles and dimensional modeling techniques, including the Kimball methodology.
- Configure, maintain, and improve data infrastructure within AWS cloud environments, supporting the stability and evolution of existing systems.
- Orchestrate data workflows using dbt and Prefect, improving automation, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
- Work with database and data warehouse technologies, including PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, and Snowflake, as applicable to the architecture.
- Monitor and improve the availability, performance, reliability, and quality of data systems.
- Establish and maintain data governance practices, promote engineering standards, and implement processes that strengthen data quality.
- Support governance and back-office teams by maintaining dependable data structures and facilitating access to relevant information.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, technology, and other business functions to understand requirements and deliver appropriate data solutions.
- Develop automations, dashboards, and metrics that address business needs and help teams make informed decisions.
- Translate business rules and operational requirements into effective technical data models and engineering solutions.
- A completed or ongoing university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid experience with SQL and programming, preferably Python, to develop and maintain data processing solutions.
- Practical experience working with PostgreSQL, including database operations and data modeling.
- Knowledge and experience with AWS infrastructure in data engineering environments.
- Proficiency with data workflow orchestration and transformation tools, particularly Prefect and dbt.
- Understanding of data pipeline development, ETL/ELT processes, and scalable data engineering practices.
- Familiarity with data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse architectures, including the design and modeling of data structures.
- Knowledge of database modeling principles and dimensional modeling methodologies, particularly Kimball, is an advantage.
- Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake or Amazon Redshift is desirable.
- Understanding of data solution architecture and the ability to contribute to reliable, maintainable, and scalable systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data quality, performance, and technical reliability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions and contribute to continuous improvement.
