The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Product Marketing based in the United States.

As the founding Head of Product Marketing, you will define how innovative AI and legal technology products are positioned, communicated, and brought to market. You will translate complex technical capabilities into compelling messaging that resonates with legal professionals and enterprise customers. Working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, you will establish the product marketing strategy, shape the brand narrative, and drive successful product launches. You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, overseeing content creation, customer research, and sales enablement. This role offers the opportunity to build a product marketing function from the ground up in a fast-moving, technology-driven environment. You will play a key role in strengthening market differentiation, building customer trust, and accelerating business growth.

Accountabilities

  • Product Positioning and Messaging: Develop clear, differentiated positioning and messaging that translate complex AI and legal technology capabilities into compelling customer benefits and communicate the product's unique value proposition.
  • Marketing Strategy and Editorial Leadership: Own the editorial calendar, prioritize marketing initiatives, and establish a consistent narrative that aligns with business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Product Launches: Lead launch messaging and go-to-market narratives by defining target audiences, customer challenges, key messages, and supporting evidence that demonstrates product value.
  • Content Creation and Editorial Management: Write, edit, and oversee content across multiple channels, including websites, email campaigns, social media, presentations, sales collateral, and other marketing materials.
  • Executive Communications and Thought Leadership: Partner with executive leaders to develop articles, social posts, videos, interviews, and panel discussions, representing the organization on camera when appropriate.
  • Customer Research and Insights: Interview customers and collaborate with Sales and Customer Success teams to understand purchasing motivations, customer needs, objections, and the language used by target audiences.
  • Content and Video Production: Direct content and video initiatives by defining topics, selecting speakers, developing creative concepts, and ensuring that materials reinforce the broader product narrative.
  • Sales Enablement: Create effective sales enablement resources that communicate product capabilities and benefits at varying levels of technical detail to support customer conversations and accelerate sales cycles.
  • Competitive Intelligence and Performance Optimization: Monitor competitors, emerging AI technologies, and market trends while partnering with performance marketing teams to refine positioning and messaging based on campaign results and customer feedback.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and external agencies to maintain strategic alignment and ensure consistent communication across customer touchpoints.
  • Professional Experience: At least 7 years of experience in product marketing, communications, or strategic storytelling, ideally within AI, enterprise software, legal technology, or another complex technology environment.
  • Legal Industry Expertise: Experience in legal practice, legal technology, legal journalism, or marketing to legal audiences, with a strong understanding of how legal professionals evaluate, adopt, and purchase technology solutions.
  • Product Marketing Expertise: Demonstrated success developing product positioning, messaging frameworks, differentiated value propositions, and go-to-market strategies for complex products.
  • Exceptional Writing and Editorial Skills: Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities, with the judgment to communicate technical concepts clearly, accurately, and persuasively to different audiences.
  • Product Launch Experience: Proven ability to develop launch narratives and coordinate messaging across marketing channels, ensuring consistency and alignment with product and commercial priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience collaborating with executive leadership, Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and external partners while maintaining a clear strategic direction.
  • Customer Research and Sales Enablement: Familiarity with customer interviews, buyer research, sales enablement, and translating customer insights into effective marketing materials.
  • Content Production and Communication: Experience directing content and video production, developing thought leadership initiatives, and presenting on camera when needed.
  • AI and Technical Fluency: Genuine curiosity about AI architecture, infrastructure, and emerging capabilities, along with practical proficiency in modern AI tools.
  • Strategic and Operational Mindset: Ability to combine long-term marketing strategy with hands-on execution, prioritize competing initiatives, and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders across teams and communicate complex ideas with clarity.
  • Location and Availability: Must be based in the United States, with meaningful overlap with Eastern Time working hours and availability for periodic business travel.
  • Competitive Compensation: Annual salary range of $180,000–$225,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Remote Work: Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Foundational Leadership Opportunity: Build and lead the product marketing function from the ground up, with the opportunity to shape positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Executive Visibility: Work closely with senior leadership and influence product direction, commercial strategy, and market communication.
  • Cross-Functional Impact: Collaborate with teams across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to bring complex AI-powered solutions to market.
  • Professional Growth: Help shape the market narrative for emerging AI and legal technology solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
