This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an IVR Techlead based in United States.

This role leads an offshore engineering team delivering a major transformation across IVR, conversational AI, and full-stack technology. You will combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering to modernize legacy systems and integrate enterprise APIs with cloud-based conversational platforms. The position spans API integration, backend engineering, prompt engineering, chatbot and voice experiences, and cloud services. You will coordinate closely with architects, platform teams, AI developers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery. A key focus will be connecting legacy services with modern REST APIs and conversational AI ecosystems while maintaining reliability and scalability. The role is ideal for a technical leader with proven experience driving complex technology transformations, particularly within telecommunications and conversational AI environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code-quality oversight for offshore full-stack engineers and AI developers.
  • Drive daily execution and delivery across API integration, backend engineering, and conversational AI workstreams.
  • Coordinate with onshore solution architects, platform leads, and engineering managers to align technical direction and delivery priorities.
  • Lead the modernization of legacy systems, including wrapping WCF services with RESTful APIs and integrating enterprise APIs with conversational platforms.
  • Oversee middleware and connector development, ensuring alignment across API specifications, data contracts, and message formats.
  • Guide prompt engineering, LLM tuning, and conversational flow optimization for voice and chat experiences.
  • Lead integrations involving conversational AI, chatbot, agent, and cloud-based AI platforms such as Parloa, Amazon Q, and Amazon Bedrock.
  • Contribute hands-on to complex API integrations, payload mapping, backend logic, and cloud service development where required.
  • Ensure solutions meet appropriate standards for reliability, performance, scalability, security, and quality across conversational channels.
  • Collaborate with platform, AI, data engineering, and enterprise technology teams to enable seamless API consumption and conversational experiences.
  • Support technical documentation, testing, deployment, and improvements to CI/CD pipelines and development processes.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve technical challenges, facilitate collaboration between engineering teams, and contribute to architecture and design decisions.
  • Proven experience leading or contributing to major telecommunications transformation initiatives; telco transformation experience is required.
  • Strong full-stack development and backend engineering experience, with hands-on expertise modernizing legacy APIs and migrating WCF services to RESTful architectures.
  • Strong understanding of API integration, middleware services, enterprise systems, and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with prompt engineering and conversational AI development, including integrating APIs with chatbot or voice solutions such as Parloa or comparable platforms.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and modern cloud-based application architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring onshore, offshore, or distributed engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to manage or provide technical leadership across complex technology transformation projects, ideally involving IVR and conversational AI.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate architecture and technical strategy into actionable engineering tasks.
  • Experience with technologies such as .NET, Web APIs, middleware services, REST APIs, SQL Server, and GitHub.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or Angular is beneficial.
  • Experience with conversational AI platforms such as Parloa, Amazon Q, or Amazon Bedrock is preferred.
  • Exposure to Webex, cloud contact center technologies, or Salesforce is a plus.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, agentic AI systems, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Knowledge of modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience in scaled delivery, factory-model environments, or high-volume production engineering is advantageous.
