The posting
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Jira Admin based in Brazil.
This role is responsible for administering and optimizing Jira in a dynamic, evolving technical environment. The position also involves integrating Jira with external systems through APIs, webhooks, and middleware solutions. You will help maintain reliable ticket and email-based workflows while identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency. Because the environment is still being documented and developed, strong problem-solving and organizational skills will be essential. Accountabilities:
- Administer and maintain Jira Cloud or Data Center environments, ensuring reliable configuration and day-to-day operation.
- Configure and manage Jira workflows, automation rules, custom fields, permission schemes, and JQL queries.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Jira and external systems using webhooks, REST APIs, and middleware-based solutions.
- Configure and manage email-handler and mail-to-ticket ingestion processes.
- Work effectively within an undocumented or evolving Jira environment, assessing existing configurations and identifying areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues and implement practical solutions to maintain efficient workflows.
- Create clear, accurate technical documentation covering configurations, processes, integrations, and administrative procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation to support future administration, knowledge transfer, and offboarding activities.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand system requirements and ensure Jira continues to support operational needs.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering Jira Cloud or Jira Data Center.
- Strong practical knowledge of Jira workflows, automation rules, custom fields, permission schemes, and JQL.
- Experience integrating Jira with external systems using webhooks, REST APIs, or middleware-based integration tools.
- Experience configuring Jira email handlers and mail-to-ticket ingestion.
- Ability to assess and work confidently within environments that may be undocumented, incomplete, or actively evolving.
- Strong technical documentation and knowledge-transfer skills, with the ability to clearly document configurations and processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, organize priorities, and take ownership of Jira administration tasks.
- Previous experience integrating Jira with vendor support or ticketing platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Remote work opportunity.
- Contract position with an opportunity to contribute to an evolving technical environment.
- Hands-on ownership of Jira administration and configuration.
- Exposure to API, webhook, middleware, and enterprise system integrations.
- Opportunity to improve system processes, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Experience working across Jira Cloud or Data Center administration and external ticketing platforms.
