This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Specialist (Team Member – Finance) based in India.

We are seeking an experienced SAP Financial Accounting (FI) specialist to design, implement, and support financial solutions within SAP S/4HANA environments. In this role, you will work closely with finance stakeholders and cross-functional teams to optimize accounting processes, strengthen financial controls, and support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. You will contribute to end-to-end SAP implementations, system migrations, upgrades, and ongoing production support, ensuring that financial systems remain accurate, compliant, and efficient. Your expertise will span core financial modules, integration with other SAP applications, and country-specific accounting requirements. You will also help translate business needs into functional solutions, guide users through system changes, and resolve complex technical and process challenges. This remote opportunity is suited to a collaborative and analytical professional who can independently lead functional activities while supporting global business operations.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and support SAP FI solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support across SAP S/4HANA environments.
  • Gather business requirements from finance stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications and practical SAP solutions.
  • Configure, maintain, and support key financial accounting modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting.
  • Manage tax configuration, financial closing processes, and country-specific legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support integration between SAP FI and other modules, including Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP), Controlling (CO), and Treasury.
  • Participate in end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, and upgrade projects, ensuring effective delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis, identify process improvement opportunities, and recommend SAP best practices to standardize and optimize financial operations.
  • Coordinate with technical teams on custom developments, interfaces, reports, and enhancements, ensuring alignment with functional requirements.
  • Prepare functional specifications, support integration testing, and validate that system changes meet business and operational needs.
  • Perform data migration validation and financial reconciliation activities to maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Provide production support, investigate complex SAP FI issues, and implement effective resolutions to minimize business disruption.
  • Facilitate user training, develop documentation, and support stakeholders in adopting new systems and processes.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, financial accounting standards, and applicable compliance obligations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least six years of SAP FI consulting experience, with hands-on expertise in SAP Financial Accounting.
  • Experience participating in at least two end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation projects.
  • Strong practical knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, and financial closing processes.
  • Experience configuring SAP FI solutions and supporting implementation, testing, migration, deployment, and post-production activities.
  • Understanding of financial accounting principles, applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Experience integrating SAP FI with other SAP modules and external systems, particularly MM, SD, PP, CO, and Treasury.
  • Ability to gather requirements, conduct fit-gap assessments, develop functional specifications, and collaborate with technical teams on system enhancements.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex financial system issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work effectively with finance users and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and contribute effectively to collaborative project environments.
  • Preferred: MBA in Finance, Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting multiple global SAP implementation and production support projects.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with SAP Fiori, Central Finance, and SAP Group Reporting.
  • Preferred: SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting certification.
  • Preferred: Experience in the manufacturing or medical device industry.
  • Work requirements: Ability to work remotely and undertake occasional travel as required.
