The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Logistics Performance Director based in the United States.

We are seeking an experienced logistics professional to lead strategic account ownership and strengthen customer relationships within a managed transportation environment. In this remote role, you will serve as the primary point of accountability for customer success, ensuring logistics solutions consistently deliver measurable value and meet performance expectations. You will develop account strategies, lead quarterly business reviews, and use operational and financial data to evaluate results and identify improvement opportunities. Working closely with operations and cross-functional teams, you will resolve service challenges, manage account risks, and support long-term customer retention. This position emphasizes strategic relationship management, transportation performance analysis, and continuous improvement rather than direct people management. It is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused logistics expert who can translate complex transportation data into actionable insights and sustainable business outcomes.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for assigned customer relationships, maintaining communication at least weekly to understand customer priorities, expectations, and overall account health.
  • Own account strategy, lead Quarterly Business Reviews, and develop long-term relationship plans that strengthen customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor operational performance, financial metrics, and key performance indicators using available technology to ensure service delivery aligns with customer expectations and business objectives.
  • Analyze transportation trends, identify potential risks, and proactively address customer retention and churn concerns in collaboration with the Managed Logistics team.
  • Oversee account-specific projects, measure return on investment (ROI), and clearly communicate the value delivered through logistics solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations to identify and resolve recurring service, billing, transportation, and delivery issues, ensuring satisfactory outcomes for customers.
  • Escalate critical customer concerns to leadership and coordinate follow-up actions through to resolution.
  • Collaborate across internal departments to maintain efficient account operations, strengthen service delivery, and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
  • Analyze transportation data and performance trends to identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost efficiencies, and expanded account value.
  • Support account growth and long-term success by identifying evolving customer needs and recommending practical, data-driven logistics solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Seven to ten or more years of experience in operational transportation solutions, with a demonstrated record of continuous improvement consulting, expanding account scope and revenue, and freight or transportation purchasing.
  • Experience working with large big-box retail companies is an advantage.
  • Previous sales experience is beneficial, particularly in environments involving account development, customer retention, or transportation solutions.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Microsoft Suite is required.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate transportation data and communicate clear, meaningful performance metrics.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills, with the ability to understand business priorities, maintain trust, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creativity in developing practical solutions to meet customer needs and resolve operational challenges.
  • Effective verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate confidently with groups of customers and internal employees.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments, manage account priorities independently, and drive initiatives from identification through resolution.
  • A strategic, customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on accountability, continuous improvement, and measurable business value.
  • Full-time employment in a remote work arrangement within the United States.
  • The opportunity to own strategic customer relationships and influence logistics performance and long-term account success.
  • A role focused on transportation strategy, customer value, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
