This remote leadership role will oversee recruiting across Data Science and Data Engineering, helping build the talent engine behind a rapidly scaling organization. You’ll lead and develop a high-performing team of technical recruiters while partnering closely with senior leaders across the Data organization. The role combines people leadership, strategic workforce planning, recruiting operations, and data-driven decision-making. You’ll shape search strategies, diagnose funnel performance, and introduce scalable solutions that improve hiring outcomes. Your work will directly influence the organization’s ability to attract exceptional technical talent and achieve ambitious growth objectives. You’ll operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where ambiguity, ownership, and operational excellence are highly valued. Accountabilities
- Lead and develop a team of recruiters responsible for hiring across Data Science, Data Engineering, and related technical functions.
- Partner with leaders across the Data organization to understand workforce needs, develop search strategies, and provide tailored, scalable recruiting solutions.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders, using market intelligence, recruiting data, and business context to influence hiring decisions.
- Establish operating standards, performance rhythms, and priorities that enable a high-performing, high-velocity recruiting organization.
- Use recruiting metrics and funnel analytics to identify gaps, diagnose root causes, and proactively implement solutions that improve hiring outcomes.
- Monitor technology and talent-market trends and translate relevant insights into recruiting strategies and workforce plans.
- Focus the recruiting team on the highest-impact priorities, removing obstacles early and ensuring strong alignment with cross-functional partners.
- Drive operational improvements that reduce friction for candidates, recruiters, and hiring stakeholders while strengthening the overall recruiting experience.
- Coach team members through ongoing feedback, performance management, and career development, fostering a culture centered on continuous growth and accountability.
- 2+ years of experience managing recruiters or a recruiting function, ideally within high-growth, technology-enabled organizations with demanding talent standards.
- 7+ years of professional technical recruiting experience across individual contributor and management roles.
- Strong recruiting expertise in Data Science, Data Engineering, or closely related technical disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic business partner to senior leaders, using data, market insights, and structured recommendations to guide decisions.
- Strong analytical and first-principles thinking, with the ability to identify root causes within recruiting funnels and develop scalable talent acquisition solutions.
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, establish structure quickly, and maintain momentum in fast-changing environments.
- Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and influence stakeholders through clear, compelling storytelling.
- Strong operational mindset with a track record of improving processes, removing friction, and raising the effectiveness of recruiting teams.
- Strong people leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance-management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and maintain a high bar for candidate and stakeholder experience.
- Base salary range of $122,000–$190,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
