Overview

The Manager, Efficacy and Insights will lead strategic education research initiatives to evaluate product effectiveness and improve learning outcomes across the K–12 education technology landscape. This role combines research leadership, analytical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to generate actionable insights that inform product development and business strategy. You will oversee complex research projects, applying rigorous qualitative and quantitative methodologies to understand what drives student success. Working closely with product, marketing, sales, analytics, and customer success teams, you will translate research findings into meaningful recommendations and compelling evidence of educational impact. You will also lead and mentor a growing team of researchers, fostering innovation, methodological excellence, and efficient research practices. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced education research professional passionate about using data and evidence to advance learning experiences and outcomes.

Accountabilities

  • Strategic Research Leadership: Define and execute the organization's research roadmap in alignment with product development, sales, marketing, and broader business objectives. Act as the central point of contact for research needs, translating stakeholder questions into impactful studies and actionable insights.
  • Research Design and Execution: Lead all stages of research projects, including study design, planning, participant recruitment, data collection, statistical analysis, interpretation, and reporting. Evaluate product efficacy, identify the conditions that support student success, and generate evidence to guide improvements.
  • Project and Process Management: Manage multiple complex research initiatives simultaneously, ensuring methodological rigor, timely delivery, and alignment with organizational priorities. Establish efficient workflows, timelines, reporting systems, and scalable processes while maintaining compliance with relevant privacy laws and research standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, data analytics, learning experience design, UX/UI design, product marketing, sales enablement, growth marketing, and customer success teams to integrate research findings into business decisions and customer-facing strategies.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing research team. Delegate responsibilities, allocate resources effectively, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth while maintaining high standards of research quality.
  • Research Communication and Thought Leadership: Collaborate with marketing teams to transform research findings into accessible materials, including white papers, blog posts, infographics, and presentations. Represent the organization at conferences, webinars, and industry events, sharing evidence-based insights and strengthening its reputation in educational technology.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Identify gaps in existing research practices and opportunities to expand the use of evidence across product, sales, and customer success functions. Explore new research approaches, strengthen collaboration with external research partners, and improve the scalability and impact of research activities.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant background is expected; a master's degree in education, learning sciences, social sciences, or a related discipline is preferred. A PhD is also desirable.
  • Professional Experience: At least five years of experience in education research, data science, or analytics, preferably in applied or industry settings. A proven track record of designing and leading impactful research studies within the U.S. K–12 education technology sector is essential.
  • Research Expertise: Strong command of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including experimental design, participant recruitment, data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation of research findings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, SAS, Python, or R. Familiarity with learning analytics, educational data mining, program evaluation, and evidence-centered design is an advantage.
  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate complex research findings into practical recommendations that support product efficacy, learning outcomes, and business priorities.
  • Project Management: Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate resources, and deliver high-quality results within established timelines.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop researchers, delegate effectively, and build productive relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, marketing, sales, and customer success teams.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate research findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Additional Experience: Experience working with external research organizations, building scalable research systems, and integrating evidence into product and customer engagement strategies is highly desirable.
  • Work Environment: Candidates must reside and work within the United States. The role requires reliable broadband internet access, comfort working remotely, and the ability to collaborate effectively through virtual meetings. Participation in occasional conferences, webinars, or other professional events may be required.
  • Competitive Compensation: Salary details were not specified in the original posting.
  • Remote Flexibility: Fully remote work within the United States, supporting flexibility and work-life balance.
  • Home Office Support: Reimbursement to help cover the cost of setting up a home or remote office.
  • Professional Growth: Opportunities to lead strategic research initiatives, develop leadership skills, and contribute to innovation in education technology.
  • Collaborative Culture: A cross-functional environment that values diverse perspectives, research excellence, and meaningful contributions to student success.
  • Meaningful Impact: The opportunity to influence evidence-based product development and help educators improve learning experiences and outcomes for students.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
