The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Fund Administration (Onboarding) based in Canada.

In this leadership role, you will oversee the onboarding of new clients for fund administration services, ensuring accurate fund accounting and reporting setups from day one. You will manage client relationships throughout implementation, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure projects meet agreed timelines and quality standards. Combining deep accounting expertise with a technology-driven mindset, you will help streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, and deliver an exceptional client experience. You will also coach and support team members while helping shape scalable onboarding processes in a fast-growing environment. This is an opportunity to influence service delivery, contribute to product improvements, and help private equity, venture capital, and real estate fund managers strengthen their operations and investor relationships.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding of new fund administration clients, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementations.
  • Manage implementation plans, project milestones, timelines, and key deliverables to ensure onboarding activities are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the onboarding process, providing clear communication and a high-quality customer experience.
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource for clients and internal team members, particularly in fund accounting, financial reporting, and complex fund structures.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize onboarding workflows, establish best practices, and increase process efficiency.
  • Oversee the collection and review of fund offering documents, including limited partnership agreements (LPAs), as well as financial data required for implementation.
  • Reconcile customer-provided information and validate data accuracy throughout the onboarding process.
  • Review completed client workspaces and configuration settings to ensure quality, accuracy, and readiness before transitioning accounts to ongoing service teams.
  • Identify opportunities for product and technology improvements, communicating client feedback and technical requirements to product development teams.
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members, supporting performance management, career progression, and effective team building.
  • Contribute to special projects and broader initiatives that support the growth and scalability of fund administration services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of fund accounting experience within private equity, venture capital, and/or real estate funds.
  • At least 3 years of people management experience, including hiring, team development, performance management, coaching, and career planning.
  • Proven experience managing client onboarding, data migration, or implementation projects within fund administration or financial technology environments.
  • Strong knowledge of fund-level accounting and reporting, including complex fund structures, consolidations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced understanding of complex accounting transactions, private equity investment structures, and reporting practices for private equity funds.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently investigate, analyze, and resolve complex problems with minimal supervision.
  • Experience defining system requirements and implementing new systems or technology-enabled processes.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • A technology-oriented mindset and genuine interest in using software and automation to improve business operations.
  • Comfort working in a fast-growing environment where priorities may evolve and processes are continuously refined.
  • A client-focused, collaborative leadership style, with a commitment to delivering accurate work and high-quality service.
  • Competitive compensation: Canadian base salary range of CAD $140,000–$150,000, depending on experience, skills, location, and applicable local pay requirements.
  • Equity compensation.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families.
  • Life insurance.
  • Mental wellness coverage.
  • Fertility and growing-family support.
  • Unlimited vacation, in addition to company-paid holidays.
  • Paid family leave, medical leave, and bereavement leave.
  • Retirement savings plans.
  • Allowance to customize your home workspace and technology setup.
  • Annual professional development stipend.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
