The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mid Level QA (Automação) based in Brazil.

We are looking for a quality-focused QA Automation Engineer to help build reliable, scalable, and high-performing software solutions. In this role, you will design and implement automated testing strategies that strengthen product quality throughout the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to identify risks, validate functionality, and prevent defects before they reach production. Using technologies such as Java, Rest Assured, and Playwright, you will contribute to robust API and web application testing. You will also help improve continuous testing practices, optimize regression coverage, and establish quality metrics that support ongoing improvement. This remote opportunity is ideal for a collaborative and proactive professional who enjoys solving technical challenges, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning.

Accountabilities

  • Test Strategy and Quality Assurance: Define and implement testing strategies based on established quality practices, including the test pyramid, regression testing, and acceptance testing, ensuring consistent quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Test Scenario Design: Write clear, structured test scenarios using Gherkin to support behavior-driven development and improve collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Automated Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using Java and Rest Assured for REST APIs and Playwright for web applications.
  • Manual Testing: Perform manual tests when necessary to validate functionality, investigate unexpected behavior, and complement automated test coverage.
  • Test Data Management: Create, organize, and maintain test data sets to ensure reliable, repeatable, and effective testing across different scenarios.
  • Product Acceptance and Validation: Work closely with Product Owners during user acceptance and homologation phases to validate business requirements and confirm that solutions meet expected outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, technical implementations, and deployment plans, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Quality Metrics and Continuous Improvement: Define, monitor, and analyze quality indicators and testing metrics to measure effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, and strengthen testing processes.
  • Defect Tracking and Root Cause Analysis: Identify, document, and monitor bugs, collaborate with development teams to investigate root causes, and establish action plans to prevent recurring issues.
  • Continuous Testing and Integration: Support CI/CD and continuous testing practices, coordinating integration tests across different squads to validate interactions between systems and components.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices: Participate actively in QA community and chapter activities, share technical knowledge, and promote consistent testing standards and quality practices across the team.
  • Process Improvement and Autonomy: Contribute ideas, challenge existing approaches when appropriate, and proactively improve testing workflows while maintaining a collaborative and respectful team environment.
  • Professional Experience: Previous experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on test automation and software quality practices.
  • Test Scenario Design: Demonstrated experience writing test scenarios using Gherkin and translating business requirements into clear, testable acceptance criteria.
  • API Test Automation: Practical experience with Java and Rest Assured for automated testing of REST APIs.
  • Web Test Automation: Experience using Playwright to automate web application testing.
  • Manual Testing: Ability to perform manual testing when required and identify functional issues that may not be covered by automated test suites.
  • CI/CD and Continuous Testing: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices to integrate quality checks into software delivery workflows.
  • Development and Debugging Tools: Experience using browser DevTools to investigate application behavior and troubleshoot issues.
  • Version Control: Knowledge of Git and GitHub for source control, collaboration, and test automation code management.
  • API Validation Tools: Familiarity with Postman or similar tools for making REST API calls, validating responses, and investigating integration issues.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in agile development environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating in iterative delivery processes.
  • Integration Testing: Experience coordinating and orchestrating integration tests across multiple squads or teams to validate end-to-end interactions between systems.
  • Quality Engineering Principles: Understanding of test strategy development, regression and acceptance testing, test pyramid principles, defect management, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills, a willingness to share knowledge, and the ability to work closely with teammates while respecting diverse perspectives.
  • Autonomy and Adaptability: A proactive mindset, comfort with independent decision-making, openness to learning new technologies, and the confidence to suggest improvements to processes and client-related practices.
  • Location and Work Arrangement: Must be based in Brazil. The role is remote; however, candidates residing in the Campinas Metropolitan Region are required to attend local offices in accordance with the applicable attendance policy.
  • Comprehensive medical and dental insurance.
  • Food and meal vouchers.
  • Childcare assistance.
  • Extended parental leave.
  • Access to fitness facilities and health and wellness professionals through Wellhub and TotalPass.
  • Profit-sharing program (PLR).
  • Life insurance.
  • Access to a continuous learning platform and professional development resources.
  • Employee discounts through a dedicated benefits club.
  • Free online resources focused on physical health, mental well-being, and overall wellness.
  • Courses supporting pregnancy, parenthood, and responsible parenting.
  • Partnerships with online learning platforms.
  • Access to language-learning platforms.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
