The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Manager, Sandboxes based in the United States.

This is a strategic product leadership role focused on shaping secure, isolated environments for modern software development and AI-powered workflows. You will own the vision, roadmap, adoption, revenue, and long-term success of a critical sandboxing product area. The role combines deep technical product management with hands-on engagement with developers, customers, and ecosystem partners. You’ll translate complex tradeoffs across security, performance, networking, storage, scalability, and cost into intuitive product experiences. Working across engineering, design, security, operations, and go-to-market teams, you’ll guide products from concept through delivery and scale. You’ll help define how developers and AI agents safely execute untrusted or agent-generated code across local and cloud environments. This opportunity is ideal for a technically fluent product leader who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and is passionate about developer infrastructure.

Accountabilities

  • Own the long-term vision, product strategy, roadmap, adoption, revenue, and business results for the sandboxing product area.
  • Develop a deep understanding of developers, customers, their workflows, and the security, performance, compatibility, and cost constraints they face.
  • Engage directly with developers building AI agents, coding environments, CI and testing systems, and other workloads requiring secure, isolated execution.
  • Translate complex infrastructure tradeoffs involving isolation, startup time, performance, density, networking, storage, and cost into simple, accessible product experiences.
  • Define product priorities, features, scope, and delivery plans in collaboration with engineering, design, security, operations, and go-to-market stakeholders.
  • Lead iterative product development by working with customers and cross-functional teams to test hypotheses, measure adoption and impact, learn from releases, and refine the roadmap.
  • Drive product initiatives that improve adoption, ecosystem integration, reliability, scalability, unit economics, and recurring revenue.
  • Establish clear product goals, OKRs, success metrics, and progress reporting to maintain alignment across teams.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, developers, partners, and internal stakeholders to strengthen product-market fit and ecosystem adoption.
  • Help foster a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, accountability, and rapid execution across distributed teams.
  • Guide the product from greenfield development through broader adoption and scale, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Over time, lead cross-functional initiatives that make secure, isolated code execution easier and more valuable for both developers and AI agents.
  • Demonstrated experience as a product leader, combined with prior professional experience as a software engineer, ideally in systems, infrastructure, platform engineering, developer tools, or cloud environments.
  • Deep empathy for developers and a strong track record of conducting user research, engaging directly with technical users, and translating their needs into product decisions.
  • Strong technical understanding of sandboxes, microVMs, containers, virtualization technologies, and hypervisors, including their respective security and isolation boundaries.
  • Solid understanding of modern developer infrastructure, including Linux, container runtimes, orchestration, networking, storage, APIs, SDKs, and cloud services.
  • Experience designing, building, or operating systems that execute customer-provided, untrusted, or AI-generated code at scale.
  • Strong familiarity with software supply-chain and security considerations, including multi-tenant isolation, identity, secrets management, observability, and reliability.
  • Experience building B2B or SaaS products, preferably within public cloud, developer infrastructure, platform, or developer tooling environments.
  • Comfortable working through command-line interfaces and discussing technical architecture, APIs, and SDKs with engineers and developers.
  • Ability to break complex technical challenges into small, releasable features that deliver clear customer value.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with experience using qualitative and quantitative data to define success metrics, evaluate performance, and prioritize investments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to make complex technical concepts understandable to diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable operating with significant ambiguity and taking ownership of large objectives with limited direction.
  • Collaborative, hands-on leadership style with experience working across fast-moving, distributed, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong bias toward action, experimentation, continuous improvement, and learning.
  • Willingness to operate as both strategist and hands-on contributor in a lean, high-growth environment.
  • Candidates must be based in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • US compensation range of $184,100–$263,000, plus equity.
  • Fully remote, remote-first work environment.
  • Flexible scheduling designed to support different working styles and personal needs.
  • Generous paid time off, quarterly wellness days, and an end-of-year wellness break.
  • Home office support to help create a productive and comfortable workspace.
  • Technology stipend equivalent to US$100 net per month.
  • Annual learning and development stipend for conferences, courses, certifications, and continued education.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave after six months of employment.
  • Equity participation for full-time employees.
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical coverage, retirement benefits, and paid holidays, with offerings varying by country.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with globally distributed teams working at the forefront of developer infrastructure and AI.
  • A diverse and inclusive work environment that values different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
