This position offers a flexible work arrangement, with hybrid options in Cary, North Carolina, or Glasgow, Scotland, and remote work opportunities within the Eastern Time Zone.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and evolve product strategy for high-performance data processing and model execution across hybrid and cloud-native environments.
  • Lead product direction for data acceleration technologies supporting high-speed model scoring, code acceleration, SAS Visual Analytics acceleration, and model training.
  • Shape interoperability strategies for modern data platforms, lakehouse technologies, cloud databases, and open-table formats such as Parquet and Iceberg.
  • Drive integration with cloud storage platforms, including AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Google Cloud Storage.
  • Align product plans with corporate strategy, business objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, priorities, objectives, and key results (OKRs), communicating risks, decisions, and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead product discovery and requirements definition by gathering and analyzing input from customers, prospects, internal stakeholders, and market research.
  • Translate technical and business insights into clear product requirements and prioritize initiatives based on customer value and strategic impact.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, UX, program management, and related teams to deliver product capabilities and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Define product success metrics, evaluate post-launch performance, and use customer feedback, market trends, financial data, and product-health indicators to guide improvements.
  • Develop business cases and investment recommendations to support product decisions and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to pricing, positioning, marketing collateral, launch readiness, support readiness, and internal knowledge transfer.
  • Represent the product externally in discussions with customers, prospects, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Manage the product lifecycle, identify emerging technologies and competitive threats, and uncover new market opportunities.
  • Promote a collaborative, innovative, and accountable approach to product development.
  • At least five years of experience in product management and/or software engineering related to data management, decision management, AI, or analytics.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in data science, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Solid working knowledge of modern data management technologies and cloud database platforms, such as SingleStore, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, and Azure Synapse.
  • Familiarity with Spark-based environments, including Databricks.
  • Familiarity with open-source runtimes, packages, and libraries, such as Python.
  • Understanding of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and/or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) business models.
  • Familiarity with cloud platform technologies and services.
  • Ability to understand complex technical architectures and translate them into product requirements and business value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage in technical discussions with customers, partners, and industry analysts.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across global teams, multiple business units, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Creative and innovative mindset, with the ability to define solutions that deliver compelling user experiences and exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to balance technical considerations, customer priorities, market opportunities, and business objectives when making product decisions.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States or Scotland without requiring current or future employment visa sponsorship.
  • Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Multiple medical plan options, including a PPO plan with a low annual deductible and copays.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
