This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Insights and Category Manager based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven commercial professional to shape category growth and strengthen market share across retail channels in the tea and consumer goods industry. In this remote role, you will combine category management expertise with advanced sales insights to identify growth opportunities and influence customer strategies. By integrating retailer, consumer, shopper, and market data, you will turn complex information into actionable recommendations that improve assortment, pricing, promotion, merchandising, and innovation decisions. You will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and leadership teams to develop compelling strategies and customer-focused selling stories. Building trusted relationships with retail partners, you will help deliver sustainable growth for both the business and its customers while enhancing the consumer experience. This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions in a collaborative, fast-paced, and internationally connected environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement insight-led category strategies across assortment, pricing, promotions, distribution, merchandising, and shopper experience to support sustainable growth for the business, retail partners, and consumers.
  • Integrate syndicated market data, retailer performance information, loyalty insights, and consumer and shopper research to monitor results, conduct customer deep dives, identify risks, and uncover commercial opportunities.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations that inform customer strategies, category development plans, and business growth initiatives.
  • Serve as the internal expert on retail customers, channels, category dynamics, and shopper needs, ensuring these insights inform brand plans and commercial priorities.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Finance, Supply Chain, and leadership teams to align category strategies with business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Advise Marketing and Innovation teams on category trends, shopper demand, assortment roles, retailer priorities, and shelf placement to strengthen the commercial potential of new products.
  • Develop compelling, visually engaging selling stories and presentations for category reviews, joint business planning sessions, customer meetings, and internal leadership updates.
  • Build consultative relationships with retail partners and internal account teams, using objective category insights to influence decisions and establish credibility as a trusted growth partner.
  • Coordinate with external data providers and relevant stakeholders to ensure access to useful market intelligence and reliable analytical inputs.
  • Manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationships while maintaining high standards of analytical quality, communication, and execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in category management, data analytics, or a related discipline, preferably within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience interpreting market, retailer, consumer, and shopper data to identify business opportunities.
  • Proficiency with data analysis platforms and tools such as Nielsen, IRI, Scintilla, Numerator, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with space management and assortment planning tools is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to transform complex analysis into persuasive, accessible business narratives.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities, with confidence engaging internal stakeholders and retail partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and diverse stakeholder groups in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative, commercially minded approach, with the ability to connect data-driven insights to practical category strategies and measurable business outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Candidates based in or near Minneapolis, Bentonville, Tampa/Orlando, or New Jersey are preferred; the role is remote within the United States.
