Role Overview
The Senior Associate – BI Analytics & Reporting will play a key role in transforming complex business data into actionable insights that support strategic planning and operational decision-making. You will design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reporting solutions, and data models using Microsoft Power BI, SQL, and modern analytics technologies. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver reliable, scalable reporting solutions. The role also focuses on data quality, KPI standardization, reporting automation, and continuous improvement of business intelligence processes. You will explore AI-powered tools to enhance productivity, streamline analytical workflows, and improve the quality of insights delivered to business teams. Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain BI dashboards: Design, build, and enhance interactive dashboards, management reports, executive views, and role-specific visualizations using Microsoft Power BI to support business performance monitoring and informed decision-making.
- Build and maintain data models: Develop and optimize data models, datasets, and data feeds that support reliable reporting, efficient analysis, and consistent business intelligence outputs.
- Translate business requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, clarify business questions, define key metrics, and convert functional requirements into technical specifications and effective analytical solutions.
- Perform data analysis: Investigate business data to identify trends, performance drivers, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Develop SQL-based solutions: Write and optimize SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and reusable data assets to support analytical use cases, reporting requirements, and data transformation processes.
- Ensure data quality and reliability: Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and accessibility across reporting systems, implementing appropriate checks and controls to maintain confidence in business insights.
- Document reporting standards: Maintain clear documentation covering report logic, KPI definitions, data sources, assumptions, refresh schedules, and other technical details to ensure transparency and maintainability.
- Optimize reporting processes: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, simplify workflows, improve reporting efficiency, and strengthen the scalability of business intelligence solutions.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools: Apply AI-assisted analytics and productivity tools to support BI development, SQL generation, documentation, data analysis, and workflow automation while maintaining appropriate quality controls.
- Support Power BI administration and governance: Contribute to report publishing, workspace management, security configuration, row-level security (RLS), licensing, and governance practices to ensure effective and secure reporting operations.
- Collaborate across the project lifecycle: Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, data modeling, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and end-user communication.
- Follow BI development best practices: Stay informed about evolving Power BI capabilities, industry standards, and emerging technologies, sharing knowledge and recommending improvements to existing practices.
- Maintain data security and compliance: Follow applicable data privacy, information security, and governance policies when developing, accessing, and distributing reports and analytical assets.
- Manage priorities and delivery: Organize workloads, balance competing business requirements, adapt to changing project timelines, and deliver accurate, high-quality solutions within agreed deadlines.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is required. A master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- Relevant experience: At least 4 years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics, and reporting, particularly in dashboard development, data visualization, and reporting solutions.
- Microsoft Power BI expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including complex DAX calculations, Power Query, tabular data modeling, data visualization, composite models, row-level security, Power BI Service, licensing, and administration.
- SQL development: Proficiency in SQL for business intelligence and analytics, including writing queries, developing views and stored procedures, and creating reusable data assets.
- Data modeling and architecture: Strong understanding of relational databases, analytical processing, data modeling principles, data warehousing, and ETL frameworks.
- End-to-end BI delivery: Experience across the complete solution lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, support, and communication with end users.
- Cloud and data integration technologies: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, AWS, or similar cloud data platforms and integration technologies is an advantage.
- AI-assisted analytics: Experience using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Codex, or internal AI agents to improve BI development, SQL writing, documentation, analytical workflows, and productivity is beneficial.
- Additional technical skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint Online, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI governance, REST APIs, PowerShell, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, Python, or R is an advantage.
- Industry knowledge: Experience in banking, financial services, or other data-intensive business environments is preferred.
- Agile delivery: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, iterative development, and collaborative project delivery is beneficial.
- International collaboration: Ability to work effectively across different geographical regions, cultures, and business functions.
