This role provides accounting, audit, assurance, and advisory support to a diverse portfolio of clients with complex financial needs. You will help organizations navigate accounting transactions, financial reporting requirements, regulatory changes, and evolving accounting standards. The position combines technical accounting expertise with client relationship management, business development, and trusted-advisor responsibilities. You will work directly with client management and audit committees to deliver accurate, timely, and practical financial guidance. The role also offers opportunities to mentor team members and contribute to their professional development. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with exposure to multiple industries and complex accounting matters. Accountabilities:
- Advise clients on complex accounting transactions, financial reporting matters, regulatory developments, and the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Ensure high-quality work is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Engage directly with client stakeholders, including management teams and audit committees, to identify accounting needs, assess issues, and deliver clear and timely recommendations.
- Monitor regulatory and market developments relevant to clients and translate emerging requirements into practical guidance and solutions.
- Provide ongoing accounting advice and support clients as they navigate strategic or regulatory business changes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor through responsive service, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of client needs.
- Participate actively in business development initiatives and cultivate professional relationships that contribute to individual and organizational growth.
- Mentor and support team members, serving as a knowledgeable and approachable resource while helping colleagues develop their technical and professional capabilities.
- Take on additional responsibilities and assignments as needed to support client engagements and broader team objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA license preferred, or actively pursuing the CPA credential.
- 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred, including financial statement audits, assurance and advisory services, or relevant corporate accounting/finance experience involving complex accounting transactions.
- Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of at least one or two specific industries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation, client service, technical writing, and accounting research capabilities.
- Ability to analyze complex situations, exercise sound judgment, solve problems effectively, and make decisions under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and support others during demanding or complex assignments.
- Strong mentoring and developmental skills, with an interest in helping team members strengthen their technical knowledge and professional capabilities.
- Ability to build and maintain productive client relationships and communicate complex accounting matters clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with clients and distributed team members.
- Applicants may be located anywhere in the United States, with preference for candidates in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, or Wisconsin due to occasional in-person meetings, team collaboration, or client engagements.
- Ability to work the normal schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST.
- $75,000–$83,000 annual salary.
