The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Business Analyst based in Germany.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs and technical solutions within an international insurtech environment. You will help modernize and automate motor claims management processes, working with insurers, vehicle manufacturers, and fleet operators to deliver efficient, integrated digital solutions. From facilitating discovery workshops and defining business requirements to supporting implementation and final acceptance, you will own the requirements lifecycle end to end. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, customers, and international development teams to transform complex needs into clear, actionable specifications. Your expertise in process modeling, requirements engineering, and agile delivery will help ensure that solutions meet business objectives and deliver measurable value. This senior-level opportunity offers autonomy, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to contribute to impactful digital transformation initiatives. The role offers remote flexibility, with mandatory on-site presence in Stuttgart, Germany, during onboarding and periodically throughout the engagement.

Accountabilities

  • Lead discovery and requirements analysis: Plan, facilitate, and follow up on discovery workshops with customers and business units. Elicit, consolidate, and validate requirements, making assumptions, conflicting inputs, dependencies, and unresolved questions transparent.
  • Define business solutions and project scope: Develop solution concepts for digitalization, automation, and integration initiatives. Establish clear scope definitions, including inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, dependencies, and risks, while evaluating solution options based on business value, effort, and feasibility.
  • Model business processes and document requirements: Create process diagrams using BPMN 2.0 and develop structured requirements, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, story maps, business rules, status logic, and business data objects. Maintain accurate documentation in Confluence and manage requirements in Jira.
  • Specify business integration needs: Define interface and API requirements from a business perspective, supporting platform integration initiatives and ensuring alignment between business expectations and technical implementation.
  • Ensure requirements quality and traceability: Review requirements for completeness, consistency, clarity, and testability. Coordinate reviews with business stakeholders and development teams, ensure alignment with the Definition of Ready, and maintain traceability from initial requirements through implementation and acceptance.
  • Support testing and solution acceptance: Derive acceptance criteria and test scenarios, contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT), coordinate business validation, and secure stakeholder acceptance of delivered solutions.
  • Manage backlogs and prioritization: Maintain and continuously refine initiative backlogs, prioritize requirements according to business value, urgency, and dependencies, and participate in agile planning and refinement sessions.
  • Support implementation and change management: Guide technical implementation from a business perspective, clarify questions from development teams, identify deviations and delivery risks early, assess change requests, and incorporate approved changes into the scope and backlog.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and communication: Align customers, business units, management, and international software development teams. Communicate progress, open issues, decisions, and risks clearly in German and English, adapting communication to different audiences.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, Product Owner, or in a similar role at the intersection of business and IT.
  • Experience in motor claims management, insurance operations, or claims-related processes, with an understanding of relevant business workflows and stakeholder needs.
  • Strong expertise in requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, and traceability, along with business process modeling using BPMN.
  • Demonstrated experience developing business solution concepts, defining project scope, evaluating solution options, and translating business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Proven ability to facilitate discovery workshops, manage conflicting requirements, and build alignment among stakeholders with different priorities and perspectives.
  • Experience with platform development and integration projects, including the definition of business-level interface requirements and familiarity with data formats such as XML and JSON.
  • Practical experience working in agile environments, including backlog management, user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, sprint planning, and refinement.
  • Confident use of Jira and Confluence for requirements management, collaboration, and documentation.
  • Experience supporting implementation projects throughout the delivery lifecycle, including testing, business validation, and final solution acceptance.
  • Very good German and English skills, with the ability to communicate complex business and technical topics clearly in both languages.
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking, with the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous requirements, identify inconsistencies, and challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with a pragmatic, delivery-oriented approach and a strong sense of ownership, reliability, and follow-through.
  • Willingness to attend on-site sessions in Stuttgart, Germany, for 2–3 weeks during onboarding and subsequently 2–3 days per month throughout the engagement.
  • Relevant professional certifications in requirements engineering or business analysis, such as IREB CPRE, CBAP, or PMI-PBA.
  • Experience with story mapping, customer journey mapping, and other structured discovery techniques.
  • Knowledge of test management, acceptance management, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Competitive compensation: Receive a competitive salary and a comprehensive compensation package.
  • Flexible working arrangements: Benefit from remote, office-based, or flexible working options, subject to project requirements and mandatory on-site attendance in Stuttgart.
  • Personalized career development: Access tailored opportunities for professional growth and long-term career progression.
  • Learning and development: Benefit from mentorship programs, technical talks, training sessions, and centers of excellence.
  • Education reimbursement: Receive financial support for relevant educational and professional development activities.
  • Knowledge-sharing culture: Join active technical communities that encourage collaboration, exchange of expertise, and continuous learning.
  • Recognition and appreciation: Receive memorable gifts to celebrate professional anniversaries.
  • Team engagement: Participate in corporate events and team-building activities that strengthen collaboration and workplace connections.
  • Additional local benefits: Access other location-specific benefits depending on your employment arrangement and location.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
