The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Insights Analyst, Mobile App based in the United States.

Join a mission-driven multimedia environment where data and audience insights help shape the future of digital news, information, and audio experiences. In this senior analytical role, you will drive mobile product strategy through advanced SQL, audience behavior analysis, and rigorous experimentation. You will work with complex, raw event-level datasets to uncover meaningful patterns, improve engagement, and strengthen audience retention. Partnering with product leaders, newsroom teams, and technical stakeholders, you will turn sophisticated analysis into clear, actionable recommendations. You will also elevate analytical practices across the organization through mentorship, documentation, and self-service tools. This remote-permitted opportunity offers the chance to influence digital product decisions while supporting a broader mission to inform and engage audiences nationwide.

Accountabilities

  • Advanced SQL and raw data analysis: Write, optimize, and quality-check complex SQL queries in BigQuery, working with raw event logs, nested arrays, JSON structures, and other unaggregated datasets to conduct cohort, behavioral, and retention analyses across mobile and web platforms.
  • Experimentation leadership: Own the end-to-end experimentation lifecycle, including hypothesis development, A/B and multivariate test design, implementation, evaluation, and translation of results into actionable product recommendations.
  • Product insights and strategy: Deliver recurring performance reporting and in-depth mobile analytics to product managers, newsroom leaders, and station stakeholders, helping guide decisions that improve audience growth, engagement, listening habits, and revenue performance.
  • Technical mentorship and enablement: Share advanced SQL expertise, conduct code reviews, train colleagues, and develop self-service insight tools that enable cross-functional teams to use data effectively in their daily work.
  • Data infrastructure and quality control: Improve scheduled queries, data summaries, and automated pipelines while collaborating with data product teams to troubleshoot tracking anomalies and refine analytical tools.
  • Stakeholder collaboration and prioritization: Assess incoming analytical requests based on business impact, align deliverables with departmental strategy, and manage complex projects independently as priorities evolve.
  • Documentation and best practices: Establish data dictionaries, technical documentation, and consistent measurement standards for mobile app, video, and web metrics, while sharing research tools and insights to foster a transparent, data-driven culture.
  • At least 5 years of advanced SQL experience, including writing complex queries from scratch, analyzing raw and unaggregated event data, and working with data warehousing tools such as BigQuery and Dataform.
  • Strong expertise in extracting, transforming, and manipulating complex data structures, including unnesting arrays, parsing JSON and structured fields, and building scalable datasets for audience cohorting and behavioral analysis.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on mobile and web analytics experience, working with digital behavioral datasets and tools such as Google Firebase and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • At least 2 years of experimentation experience, including designing, executing, and evaluating A/B or multivariate tests using Optimizely or comparable enterprise experimentation platforms.
  • Advanced data visualization and reporting skills, including the ability to translate complex SQL outputs into clear, compelling insights using tools such as Looker, Tableau, Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences, connect quantitative results to strategic objectives, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues, training stakeholders on data tools, establishing self-service analytical frameworks, and promoting SQL quality, documentation, and data hygiene standards.
  • Strong analytical judgment, statistical reasoning, project ownership, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage changing demands and collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience in digital news, public broadcasting, or media streaming; proficiency in statistical modeling with Python or R; and a track record of building cross-functional partnerships to solve complex analytical challenges.
  • Must be able to work remotely from an approved location within the United States, work on-site at an approved facility, or follow a hybrid arrangement. Occasional travel may be required. This is a full-time, exempt position represented by a union and covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
  • Salary: Annual salary range of $105,435.13–$116,380.66, depending on location and applicable hiring considerations.
  • Work flexibility: Remote-permitted role, with options to work remotely from an approved U.S. location, on-site at an approved facility, or through a combination of remote and on-site work.
  • Healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, and vision plan options for eligible employees and dependents.
  • Insurance protection: Life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, and short- and long-term disability benefits.
  • Financial well-being: Access to voluntary retirement savings options.
  • Paid time off and wellness: Benefits include paid time off and access to health and wellness resources.
  • Eligibility: Regular, full-time employees scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week are eligible to enroll in the available benefits plans.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
