The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer based in India.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure and delivery systems that power a modern SaaS platform. You will drive improvements across AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and site reliability engineering to ensure secure, scalable, and dependable services. Working closely with software engineering teams, you will streamline deployment processes, enhance developer productivity, and strengthen operational excellence. You will help establish best practices for monitoring, incident management, performance optimization, and cloud cost efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical decisions and shape infrastructure strategy within a collaborative, globally distributed engineering environment. The position is fully remote within Bengaluru and requires regular collaboration with colleagues in the United States.

Accountabilities

  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring that production services remain secure, scalable, reliable, observable, and cost-efficient.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI and related technologies to improve deployment speed, consistency, safety, and developer experience.
  • Build and maintain comprehensive observability solutions, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and actionable alerts using Datadog and other relevant tools.
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve service availability, performance, capacity planning, incident response, and overall system resilience.
  • Lead incident investigations, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions that prevent recurring issues and strengthen operational readiness.
  • Establish effective monitoring and alerting practices that reduce unnecessary notifications, accelerate troubleshooting, and promote clear service ownership across engineering teams.
  • Identify and implement cloud cost optimization opportunities while balancing infrastructure spending with reliability, performance, scalability, and engineering productivity.
  • Collaborate with application developers and engineering stakeholders to establish consistent infrastructure standards, improve delivery workflows, and encourage operational best practices.
  • Contribute to engineering-wide technical decisions through practical recommendations, clear documentation, and effective communication.
  • Work closely with globally distributed teams, particularly colleagues in the United States, to coordinate infrastructure initiatives and ensure alignment on engineering priorities.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Significant hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining production infrastructure on AWS. This is a mandatory qualification.
  • Proven experience designing, operating, and improving CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or another major continuous integration and delivery platform. Experience with CircleCI is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Docker and containerized application environments, including practical experience supporting production workloads.
  • Solid foundations in Linux administration, networking, cloud infrastructure, and security principles.
  • Practical experience applying SRE methodologies to production systems, including service monitoring, alerting, incident management, root-cause analysis, capacity planning, and continuous reliability improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with a leading observability and telemetry platform, such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Grafana Cloud, or Splunk. Datadog experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design meaningful monitoring and alerting systems that improve visibility, reduce alert fatigue, and support effective incident response.
  • Experience managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs, with the ability to make informed trade-offs between cost, reliability, performance, and development speed.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with application engineering teams to establish shared infrastructure practices, improve deployment workflows, and strengthen production readiness.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and operational issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, a proactive approach to identifying infrastructure improvements, and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Comfort working with geographically distributed teams and collaborating regularly with colleagues across India and the United States.
  • Current full-time residence in Bengaluru, India, as applicants based in other Indian cities are not eligible for this position.
  • Willingness and ability to work regular hours overlapping with U.S. business hours, approximately 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. IST, Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to submit all application materials in English and provide accurate, truthful information throughout the recruitment process.
  • Remote work flexibility: Work remotely from Bengaluru, India, with the flexibility to collaborate with an international engineering team.
  • Technical ownership: Take responsibility for critical cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and reliability initiatives that support a hosted SaaS platform.
  • Professional development: Expand your expertise in AWS, CI/CD automation, observability, cloud security, and Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Engineering impact: Influence infrastructure architecture, operational standards, deployment practices, and technical decisions across engineering teams.
  • Collaborative environment: Work closely with software engineers and global colleagues in a distributed, cross-functional organization.
  • Continuous improvement: Contribute to initiatives that improve developer productivity, system resilience, service performance, and cloud cost efficiency.
  • Inclusive workplace: Join an environment that values diverse perspectives, equal opportunity, respectful collaboration, and individual contributions.
  • Compensation and additional benefits: Salary range, healthcare coverage, paid leave, bonuses, and other specific benefits have not been disclosed in the available job description and should be confirmed during the recruitment process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
