The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Operations Manager based in United States .

As the first Product Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the operating foundations of a growing product organization. You will work closely with product leaders and product managers to improve planning, execution, customer insight, and cross-functional collaboration. This role offers the opportunity to design practical systems from the ground up in a fast-moving, engineering-led environment focused on developer tools and AI infrastructure. You will help establish clear roadmaps, measurable goals, effective product development practices, and streamlined launch processes. By connecting product teams with customer feedback, data, and go-to-market partners, you will enable better decisions and stronger outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a hands-on mindset, with a passion for simplifying complexity and using AI to help teams work more effectively.

Accountabilities

  • Build and manage product operating rhythms: Establish and oversee planning cycles, product reviews, and recurring updates. Ensure meetings have clear objectives, decisions are documented, and follow-up actions remain visible, while continuously improving or eliminating processes that no longer add value.
  • Own roadmap management: Develop and maintain a reliable roadmap structure tailored to different audiences, including engineering teams, leadership, and sales, ensuring progress and priorities are transparent and up to date.
  • Establish goal-setting and performance tracking: Coordinate product team goal-setting, define measurable objectives with clear data sources, monitor quarterly progress, and partner with the data team to deliver trusted reporting and identify risks early.
  • Develop product management standards: Maintain lightweight practices and documentation throughout the product lifecycle, including problem briefs, product stage definitions, launch readiness, and release notes. Coordinate with marketing to ensure launches are supported by the necessary documentation, pricing, and go-to-market preparation.
  • Strengthen customer insights: Build and maintain a useful customer research repository, establish ongoing customer conversations with sales and customer success teams, and synthesize feedback from support, surveys, sales interactions, and commercial opportunities into actionable insights for product managers.
  • Develop product management capabilities: Lead onboarding and ongoing training for product managers, foster a community of practice, and contribute to hiring practices and career-level frameworks.
  • Optimize product tools and workflows: Evaluate and manage tools for roadmapping, analytics, and AI, helping product managers use technology effectively to improve productivity and decision-making.
  • Partner on product organization strategy: Identify operational bottlenecks, recommend improvements, and collaborate with product leadership to strengthen the organization and its effectiveness over time.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience, including 3 or more years in product operations or a related function, such as product program management, product strategy and operations, or serving as chief of staff to a product leader.
  • Demonstrated experience building a product team's operating cadence and processes from scratch within a growing organization.
  • A practical, service-oriented mindset, with the ability to measure success through the impact and effectiveness of the teams you support rather than the volume of processes created.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise plans, templates, documentation, and updates.
  • Strong data literacy, including experience defining metrics, working with business intelligence tools, and evaluating data quality. SQL experience is an advantage.
  • Technical fluency and the ability to work credibly with engineering teams in a developer-focused, engineering-led organization; software development experience is not required.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to drive adoption through collaboration and useful solutions rather than formal authority.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve personal productivity and the ability to help colleagues adopt AI-enabled workflows.
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience in product operations at a developer tools, API, infrastructure, or AI company; managing quarterly planning or OKRs; building customer research repositories or B2B research recruitment programs; developing product manager onboarding programs or career frameworks; supporting go-to-market launches and product stage definitions; or prior experience as a product manager.
  • Competitive salary and equity package.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Flexible vacation policy.
  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful technology initiatives and impactful products.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to open-source projects.
  • Remote work opportunity for candidates based in Canada, subject to the employer's applicable employment and hiring arrangements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
