The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Sales Manager - Technology based in United States.

This senior sales leadership role will own and scale the go-to-market strategy for growth-stage startups, with a particular focus on companies from Series A onward. You’ll operate with significant autonomy, combining strategic planning with hands-on execution to drive customer acquisition, pipeline growth, and activation. The role brings together Sales, SDRs, Revenue Strategy & Operations, Partnerships, Marketing, and the Venture Ecosystem around a unified growth strategy. You’ll manage sales leadership and directly oversee the Venture Ecosystem team while partnering closely with senior executives across the business. This is an opportunity to operate like a general manager, shaping the sales motion, developing talent, and responding quickly to market opportunities. Success will be measured through both commercial performance and the strength of the broader startup and venture ecosystem.

Accountabilities:

  • Own the overall startup sales strategy, setting priorities across customer segments, markets, pipeline generation, conversion, and investment areas.
  • Establish an operating rhythm that aligns SDRs, Account Executives, Venture Ecosystem Sales, Revenue Strategy & Operations, Partnerships, and Marketing around clear objectives.
  • Combine proven SaaS sales practices, including outbound prospecting, qualification, deal management, and forecasting, with founder and investor engagement, events, and portfolio programs.
  • Set high standards for sales execution, including discovery, deal strategy, follow-through, forecasting, and customer engagement.
  • Coach sales leaders and individual contributors, using performance reporting and market feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive customer outcomes beyond the initial sale by supporting strong activation and adoption across payments, cards, deposits, and broader financial operations.
  • Partner with SDR leadership, Revenue Strategy & Operations, Partnerships, Marketing, Product, and post-sales teams to remove obstacles and accelerate growth.
  • Lead hiring, talent development, workflow improvements, and organizational scaling as the startup business expands.
  • Bring customer, competitive, and market insights into strategic decisions and continuously adapt the sales motion based on what is working.
  • Oversee Venture Ecosystem efforts and strengthen relationships with founders, investors, accelerators, and other influential startup communities.
  • 7+ years of experience selling foundational software and financial products to growth-stage startups, including directly engaging founders and finance leaders.
  • 4+ years of people management experience, including leadership of quota-carrying sales teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop sales leaders as well as experienced individual contributors.
  • Strong understanding of the venture ecosystem and how investors, accelerators, and founder communities influence startup purchasing decisions.
  • Proven ability to build and scale a disciplined SaaS sales motion while recognizing when in-person relationships, events, and ecosystem engagement can create a competitive advantage.
  • Strong strategic and operational skills, with the ability to set priorities, establish effective processes, and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Comfortable operating with significant autonomy and making decisions in a fast-moving, competitive market.
  • Ability to influence and align teams and stakeholders outside of your direct reporting structure.
  • Strong coaching, communication, forecasting, and deal-management capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, learn from market feedback, and adjust strategy when needed.
  • Target base salary of $257,900–$322,400 USD for employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Target base salary of $232,200–$290,200 USD for employees outside those geographic areas.
  • Equity compensation through stock options and/or RSUs.
  • Competitive total rewards package within the SaaS and fintech industry.
  • Compensation offers based on experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity.
  • Significant autonomy and ownership over a major business line.
  • Opportunity to work closely with senior executives across sales, product, marketing, partnerships, and revenue operations.
  • Leadership opportunity spanning sales management and the broader venture ecosystem.
  • Mission-driven environment focused on helping ambitious startups manage and grow their financial operations.
  • Commitment to diversity, belonging, and equal employment opportunity.
  • Reasonable accommodations available throughout the recruitment process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
